Over the next two weeks, Emma felt eyes watching her every move. She no longer felt alone. She no longer felt safe. Not even when she was with Killian. She hadn't told him about what she had feeling because if she did, she knew he would take it out of proportion and go overboard with the whole thing when it was probably just her mind playing tricks on her. She brushed her fears off as just paranoia because of what Jekyll had said. She still hadn't figured out what he meant about what he said about Neal's death. Other than the fact that it obviously wasn't an accident.
Emma packed up her messenger bag filled with papers and files then went outside to her car. She unlocked the doors and put her bag in the backseat. Someone opening the passenger's side door caught her attention. She gasped as she saw the familiar red haired man. The sound of a gun cocking suddenly filled the car and Jekyll turned to her in the seat. He put the gun to her side, but to anyone looking into the car would see him as if he was looking for something on the console.
"Now, Emma," he said, clicking the gun again and pressing it firmly to her side. She kept a brave face on, but inside, she was terrified. "I want you to start driving back to your home, but I want you to take the back roads. We will arrive a little later than expected. Make any wrong moves and I won't hesitate to shoot you."
Emma nodded and started the car. She turned onto the country roads on the outside of the city. Taking this route would only put her back about fifteen minutes. "What do you want from me?" She asked, trying to put her focus on driving instead of the crazy scientist holding a gun to her side. If he pulled the trigger, she would probably live, but her baby most definitely wouldn't.
"You have grown into such a beautiful woman, Emma," he said, taking the gun from her side and pushing it around a lock of her hair with the barrel. "The last time I saw you, you were just a baby."
"What?" She asked, confusion lacing her tone and turning her gaze to him, only to see him nodding back to the road. "W-what is that supposed to mean?"
Jekyll chuckled. "I didn't expect you to remember. That bitch had to take you away from me. They said that I wasn't mentally sane. Can you believe that?" He laughed evilly. "I gave Graham his abilities. He agreed to be my test subject after Killian went missing when he ran away. Graham had been the second choice in my Mind Experiment. He would replace what Killian had if he said no or changed his mind. When Killian escaped my lab, he took my notes with him. I had to mess around in order to find the right formula. In the process, creating The Switch. I would have been able to rule the city if it hadn't been for Graham's weakness of you. I created what he had to take revenge on them."
"What does this have to do with me? My baby? Killian? Who are you? How do you know me?" Emma asked, firing each question off that popped into her head.
"Captain David Nolan and his wife, Mary Margaret are the reasons why we didn't grow up together. They said that I wasn't fit to raise you."
"Raise me?" Emma asked, her heart thumping loudly in her chest.
"Yes. You have your mother's looks."
"Y-you're my father?"
"Indeed. Your mother left shortly after you were born to run away with my brother. Mary Margaret and David were the babysitters. My wife's friends. After she left, I was depressed. Drowned myself in work to get my mind off of things and to claim my revenge. They took you away from me. They took my daughter from me!" He was becoming angrier with each sentence he said. "It took me a few years to find you. And once I did, I knew I couldn't let you slip away from me again. Once you became pregnant with Neal's child, I knew that there wouldn't be any chance that you would come looking for your real parents. I knew I had to do something with Neal. It was just a bonus that you lost your kid. What-what were you going to name him again?"
"Henry," Emma choked out.
"Yes, Henry," Jekyll hummed. "Anyway, after you lost the baby, it was only a matter of time until I could get rid of Neal." He lifted his arm and rolled up his sleeve to show her a deep scar. "I got that after the car crash." He rolled down his sleeve and returned the gun to her side. "I was the one who put that flyer in your door. I showed you Springtide City. All I could do then was hope that you would take the bait and move here. And you did! I didn't expect you to know Regina Mills. And I certainly didn't expect you to be introduced to Killian Jones. I am surprised at how long he kept his secret from you. I was absolutely shocked when I found out that the two of you were still together afterwards."
"How did you find out I was pregnant?"
"Just a little snooping around after the two of you were asleep."
"I can't be related to you. You are a physcopath."
Jekyll shrugged his shoulders, "I know. And that's what makes life much more entertaining."
"You know, fathers don't stalk their children and hold guns to their sides and kill the people they love."
"Only the ones that care do." He looked out the window and yelled, "stop!" Emma stopped the car and saw that it was just outside the city. Right before they were going to reenter it. "I love you, Emma. I'm so glad I found you."
"If you cared about me so much, why didn't you come and find me sooner?" She asked, just as he was about to close the door.
Jekyll smiled. "You weren't ready yet."
"Ready for what?" She asked, but he slammed the door and started walking down the dirt road. And as much as she wanted her answers, Emma wanted her life even more. She pressed down on the gas pedal and drove back to Killian's house, stuck in a daze.
