One Month Later...

"Constant battles against you, me always coming out on top. Me always besting you. Thwarting all of your schemes has all led up to this," Killian taunted as he stood in front of Hades. The man's henchmen laid on the ground, all passed out. "I can assure you that you won't be slipping away from me again."

"Don't you see though? Our little game will go on and on," Hades stated with a sickening smile on his face. The two men stood in the middle of the abandoned Main Street. Police officers stood off to the side on the outside of the street barricades. Snipers on the rooftops of buildings. Emma, Regina, and Victor sitting in the lab, watching the whole thing unfold over the computer monitors after Regina had hacked into the street cameras. "The police in this city will do nothing to help you or the citizens of this place. I will reign on top once I get rid of you."

"And what are you going to do? Shoot me? We all know that I can stop a speeding bullet in midair."

Hades and The Mind had been on their toes, fighting each other every chance they got. It started out with Hades taking hostages, whether kidnapping them or robbing a store or bank and holding the people inside. Sometimes people died, sometimes everyone got out safely. None of the past villains and criminals The Mind went up against were this angry or violent. Team Mind had guessed it was because of the man's childhood. An abusive drunk as a father, many siblings, and a hard working mother who was hardly seen at home due to the jobs she worked. He was never a favored child. Always acting out because of his need of attention. It had been a hell of a fight against Hades with Killian. Over time, the criminal had gotten good at disguising his true plans. Of fooling the superhero. He was a fast learner indeed. Killian had vowed that this would be the final fight against Greg. None of them knew what the real outcome would be.

"Maybe you can, Mind, but I know how to get you over to me. Willingly." Hades laughed evilly. He knelt down to the ground and tossed a piece of paper over to Killian, then standing up. He watched as the superhero unfolded the paper. Horror crossing his face.

"You wouldn't dare!" Killian hissed, tears filling in his eyes as he crumpled the paper up in his fist.

"Try me." Hades raised up a walkie-talkie to his mouth but was quickly stopped by Killian.

"No, no, no, don't! I-I'll do it. I surrender myself so the woman I love can live."

Emma gasped and covered her mouth with her hands, tears quickly pouring down her cheeks. Regina pulled the blonde down into her lap, cradling her head in her shoulder. "Don't watch, Emma," she warned sternly. It wasn't a suggestion. It was a command.

"Excellent choice! Come along now." Hades snapped his fingers and two men dressed in black came out of the shadows, forcefully grabbing Killian's arms and dragging him away. There was an explosion, capturing everyone's attention. But, when they turned back, Hades, Killian, and the men dressed in black were all gone.

Emma got in her car and drove down to Main Street, pushing past people and going through the barricades. Her coworkers who were controlling the crowd of people leaving their posts to catch up with her as she made her way to David who stood next to a few detectives. She stood in front of the spot where the superhero- her superhero stood less than fifteen minutes ago.

"Emma, we need to talk," David said, helping her up off the ground. She fell into his arms and cried into his chest. All the officers staring at her with understanding. As far as they knew, The Mind was just the superhero who had saved her life multiple times and they had grown a closer connection. "You are all dismissed. We will pick this up in the morning. This street will remained closed all night." He nodded to the officers and led Emma to his car. He helped her down into the passenger's seat and went over to the driver's seat and shut and locked the door. He looked at her helplessly as she cried into her hands. "He left this," David said softly, handing her the piece of purple construction paper that was folded up. Emma grabbed it and read it. "I had no idea who he was, Emma, but I promise you that we will get Killian back."

More tears sprung to her eyes as she read the note. 'I know who you are, Killian Jones. I know you are engaged to Emma Swan and are expecting a child together. Come with me unless you want to see her dead, bloodied body laying in your bed.'

"No one else knows except for me. I got to the note before anyone else could," David said softly.

"I told him that I couldn't have him getting hurt," Emma sobbed, her voice cracking as she spoke. "He said that this would be the last fight."

"Well it won't be. I will have all the detectives looking for him. I assume that you both have friends that can help look?" Emma nodded and clutched the note in her hand. "Then tell them to start looking."

"They already are," she said, looking up at David.

"Good. I am going to take you to mine and Mary Margaret's house. You will stay with us for a few days. We can tell her that Killian is out of town for a business trip or something and you weren't comfortable staying in his house alone. Tomorrow, we will go to get some of your things."

The blonde nodded and buckled up her seat belt. "Let's go." David nodded and they drove off.
