Ah! How could I forget?! Shoutout to LostGirlPirate and TheCaptainEmmaSwan for winning contest 1 of my one shot contest!

Two Weeks Later...

Emma and Killian were spending more time together. They were still classified as dating. He hadn't asked her to be his girlfriend, but she was pretty sure they were exclusive. But, she couldn't be sure. Usually he would run out on her during a lunch date or when they were hanging out with each other at their houses. But, other than that, she had no solid evidence that he was seeing another girl. Killian just didn't seem to be that kind of guy. He was so sweet and kind, and always made sure that she was happy.

When she walked into her apartment, she flipped the light switch, but the lights didn't come on. She sighed and put the grocery bags down on the counter and turned on her flashlight through her phone. She gasped when she saw a male figure right in front of her window where only the lights from the city and the moon were coming in, but only enough to where she could see a silver suit.

"You have to quit doing that," she told him, clutching her chest.

"Sorry. But I can't have you figuring out who I am." He disappeared from her line of vision, but then, she felt him right behind her. His breath hitting her skin. "I need your help."

"My help? What can I possibly do for you?"

"I need your help finding someone. People at the precinct told me you were good at that."

"I guess I am." Emma couldn't concentrate. A fucking superhero was standing right behind her, asking for her help on something he was working on. She couldn't believe it. She moved over to her computer and lifted the screen. The light casting a white glow across the room. The Mind moved behind the computer, far enough away where only his suit could be seen in the glow, but not his face. But, through the dark, Emma could see a pair of stunningly blue eyes. A pair of blue eyes that looked so familiar, but she couldn't place her finger to where she had seen them before. "What is the person's name?"

"Jonathon Blake," he said in that deep voice of his.

She typed on the computer and clicked on a few links, finally bringing up a criminal record for him. "Jonathon Blake, arrested for stealing, attempted homicide, armed robbery, hit and run, and attempted rape." She scrolled down on the page. "Escaped from the Springtide Prison two days ago? How did I not know about that?" She asked herself. She could hear The Mind's small chuckle, and she went back to work. After a few minutes, she leaned back in the chair. "He was last spotted at Springtide's bank an hour ago. Witnesses said that he went into an alleyway across the bank when he disappeared."

"There's an abandoned warehouse two blocks from the bank," he thought aloud.

"You don't watch the news?" Emma asked, crossing her arms across her chest.

"of course I do. But I have been looking for this bastard for the past six hours." He uncrossed his arms. "I must go, m'lady. Thank you for your help." The lights flicked on and he was gone.

An hour later, Emma was sitting in front of the tv watching the news. She had a glass of wine in her hand as she was looking through a magazine. The tv only served for some background noise anyway. A news update tune played and she looked up, seeing the words 'Breaking News' written in red up in the corner.

"Superhero The Mind has just captured prison escapee Jonathon Blake. Natalie Beckman has more on the story," the woman news anchor said.

"Thank you, Peggy. I am here at Springtide Prison where, as you can see, police officers are securing the area. Jonathon Blake escaped from the prison one day ago. The Mind brought him in about thirty minutes ago. Normally, our silver savior doesn't stick around for long once the job is done, but this time, things changed. I caught up with him as he was leaving the prison, and while he didn't stay to talk for the cameras, he said that he didn't operate alone this time. That he got some outside help in finding our escaped criminal. Now, he didn't want to mention the woman's name, but he said that he owes his thanks. Back to you, Peggy."

Emma put her wine glass down before she could spill any of it. She couldn't believe it that The Mind had come into her home to ask her for help finding some criminal, but he actually thanked her too! She could understand why he didn't say her name, but the credit was very much appreciated. Emma could only wish that she knew how to contact him in order to thank him properly. It wasn't like she could just call him and give him a muffin basket. She grabbed her phone and called Regina, knowing that she wasn't going to be able to sleep until she got this out in the open.

"Hey, Regina, you are never going to guess what happened," Emma said after the woman picked up.

"What happened, Emma?" Regina asked mockingly.

Emma rolled her eyes at her friend's response. "The Mind asked me for help finding a criminal today. He showed up at my apartment and everything! I was watching the news and the lady said that he wanted to thank me publicly! He didn't say my name but that was so cool!"

"No way! The Mind has never gone out and asked somebody for help on anything that he's ever worked on. Nobody really knows what he does in his spare time anyway. He must think you are special."

"I don't think so. I just think he needed help with something and I was the first person he thought of. Maybe going to the police station was just too risky with everyone going in and out of there."

"So, he was just there when you came home from work?"

"Yeah! I came home from the store and I tried turning the lights on, but they wouldn't work. He was standing in front of my window and gave me a heart attack. Thank God for the lights of the city or else I would have thought it was a robber. Somehow, he kept the lights off until after he left. His voice is really deep and he stays in the dark so I couldn't see his face."

"Interesting," Regina said from the other end. "Well, I have to go. I have a big day at the lab tomorrow so I'm gonna have to get to bed. Don't dream too much about The Mind."

Emma laughed, "I'll try not to. Hey, maybe we can have lunch together tomorrow? I've been spending so much time with Killian lately. Maybe whatever work he is behind on he can catch up on during lunch. I won't be there to distract him."

"Sure. I miss my friend."

"I miss you too. I actually moved here to be closer to you anyway. I should start doing that." Emma glanced over at the clock and yawned. "I have to go too. See you tomorrow."

"Bye, Emma."

Emma hung up and went into her bedroom, falling asleep with a smile on her face.
