Emma silently urged Killian to press harder on the gas pedal. Hope was in trouble, and there was no telling what Graham would do to her. She was afraid to even think about it, but because she was a mother, that was all she could think about. They soon pulled up and Killian got out of the car. Emma grabbed her gun that she had in her holster and waited until he was out of sight. There was no way she would stay in the car while Killian put himself in danger. She got out of the car and went to the door and opened it. Graham's voice echoed in the greenhouse. A shadow flew above her head. Emma looked up just in time to see the bottom of Killian's shoes as he flew by. She hid behind a shelf filled with pots and looked over to see Graham's back towards her. He wore his old Switch outfit. Hope sat in the chair in front of him, but Emma couldn't get a view of her face.
"Did your parents ever tell you their past with me?" Graham asked. He moved around and Emma quickly hid behind the stack of pots, careful to not move at all. "Your mother and I used to work together. I loved her, but she sent me to jail." He waved his gun around and Emma heard Hope's breath catch in her throat.
"She got you once, and I'm sure she will do it again."
"You've got both of your parents' fire. But, you see, I have no doubt that they are here. But, will they have enough courage to come out and get me?"
Just then, Killian jumped down and stood in front of Graham and Hope. "You have no idea who you are messing with," Killian said in his deep, disguised voice.
"I want my revenge," Graham said. He took out his gun and held it to Hope's head. She closed her eyes as her breath started to pick up. "You and your precious Emma have nothing on me."
"Wait, Emma?" Hope asked. "What the hell does that mean? Who are you?" She yelled. The gun in Graham's hand flew across the room and he started to choke. Emma came out from around the shelf with her gun in her hands. She grabbed her pocket knife and cut through the ropes around Hope's wrists. "Mom?" She asked. She stood up and wrapped her arms around her mother. "What's going on here?"
"The Mind and I have come to save you," Emma said. "Let's go."
"I don't think so," Graham muttered. He took a remote out of his pocket and pressed a button. Killian fell to the ground and cried out in pain. He covered his hears and his screams got louder. "I borrowed that from our favorite scientist. He may not be around anymore but his tech still is."
"Run! Get out of here. Call David. Go!" Emma shouted, pushing her daughter behind her. She held up her gun at Graham. "Stop the ringing," she commanded.
"Or what? Your superhero was going to die eventually. But, it just so happens that it is the perfect time to kill him now!" Graham raised his hand with the remote up and Emma shot the gun, aiming for his arm and successfully hitting him, causing him to drop the remote and and stumble back. She bent down and picked it up and pressed the big red button in the middle. Killian stopped screaming and started breathing heavily.
"Not on my watch." She hauled Graham up off the ground, and not so gently either. He grunted in pain. "Yeah, doesn't feel so good, does it?" She took him out of the greenhouse just in time for a few police cars to pull up. She shoved him in one of the cars and looked around. Hope was leaning against the wall. Emma rushed over to her daughter and hugged her tightly. "Oh my baby! Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"
"No, he didn't. I'm fine. But what about The Mind?"
"Sweetheart, I have a big thing to tell you." Emma sat down on her knees and took her daughter's hands in hers. "Your father is The Mind," she whispered.
"What?" Hope asked in disbelief.
"Yeah. Anytime that he had to run out unexpectedly, he was our saving lives. It was why he was late to your kindergarten graduation. He was responding to a suicide attempt. A woman threatened to jump from a building. He went to save her. It was no question that we had to go out and save you."
"Well then let's go!" Hope ran back into the greenhouse. Emma following behind her. Killian was laying still on the ground. Blood seeped through the fabric around his ears. His eyes fluttered open as Emma and Hope came in. "Dad?"
"Hope," he whispered. "Emma." He looked between the two women in front of him. "I failed you both."
"Shut up," Emma demanded. "You know how much I hate hearing that. Cmon, we have to get you to Regina and Victor at the lab. You are going to be fine." She leaned down and kissed her husband on the forehead. She helped him up and brought him around to the back. She told Hope to stay with him while she brought the car around to the back. Once getting Killian into the backseat, they drove off towards the lab. Hope called Regina and Victor, giving them a heads up that they were on their way, with Emma promising to explain everything that happened as soon as he was okay.
"Is he going to be okay?" Hope asked, looking back to her father who was laying in the backseat.
"Of course he is," Emma reassured her, grabbing her daughter's hand and squeezing it. "He's a survivor. Always has been, and always will be too."
