Maul was making progress with Ezra. He learned that the boy's guardians apparently thought him too reckless. That is quite interesting, I wouldn't call him reckless, impulsive maybe, but reckless? Maul sighed. He realized the Ghost crew was like the boy's family. The Twi'lek woman definitely cared about him a way a mother would, Maul would know, his own mother actually died to save Maul. Mother Talzin of the Nightsisters clan, of Dathomir. She was the last Dathomirian witch, Ventress died shortly before her, saving a Jedi from her old master Dooku. Mother Talzin was killed by Maul's former master, and the Kaleesh cyborg, General Grievous. The other Nightbrothers, Maul's clan, were killed as well. Brother Viscus was a good man and an honorable leader. Maul hoped to hide Ezra from all of this pain, but he realized his apprentice's parents were killed by the Empire. Maul would one day kill those who have wronged him, and his apprentice. Nothing shall stand in our way.
Those of you who haven't read Dark Disciple, Ventress was killed so...spoilers! Son of Dathomir spoilers as well, Maul is the last person (Zabrak? Dathomirian?) living, from the world of Dathomir, because the rest of his people were killed.
