Ezra watched Maul as the Zabrak grabbed the Holo. Apparently Maul was allowing him to contact Hera and Kanan. Hmm, that's surprising. I thought the moment he influenced me to this ship we would be headed to the Unknown Regions, where he could train me to become the "perfect apprentice"yeah right, Ezra thought. Maul sat beside Ezra, while the young human contacted his friends. Suddenly a tiny blue Hera appeared in his hand. She was clearly frantic,"Ezra, are you alright?! Where are you? We've been looking for you since yesterday morning, why did you leave? Everyone is worried sick!" Hera said. Ezra looked at her and grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck while he avoided eye contact."Yeah, hey Hera. I'm sorry I took off without telling you guys but I kind of needed a break from all of, well you know. I'm with someone at the moment, he was generous enough allowing me to contact you." Ezra said, looking at the Twi'lek. Maul was watching the whole conversation, interested. Ezra continued,"Could I talk to Kanan for a minute? It's Jedi business." He added when he saw Hera's expression. "Alright, but as soon as you two are done talking, you're going to tell me where you are." Hera said. The Twi'lek disappeared, and in her place stood, Kanan Jarrus. "Ezra you better have a good reason for leaving us without telling. You could've died! You could've been captured by the Empire. Everyone has been looking for you. I'm extremely disappointed in you." Kanan said. Ezra looked down at his feet, ashamed. Maul suddenly took the Holo from Ezra, looking straight at Kanan's Jaig eyes. "Jarrus, our apprentice is safe and in my care. You on the other hand... Well I can't say what I want to do to you, but I can say it would be quite violent. Ezra is perfectly fine, you need to stop worrying about him, he can make his own decisions. You can't control him forever, Jarrus." Maul said. "Ezra will remain under my care until he wants to leave. It's as simple as that. Now I think our apprentice wants to tell you something." Maul handed the Holo back to Ezra, who mock glared at the Zabrak. "Yeah, hi Kanan. I'm fine, seriously. Maul has been a gracious host, he hasn't tried to corrupt me...yet. But the reason I left was to go on a vacation of sorts, a break, to get away from all this", Ezra said, waving his hand toward Kanan. "I like having my freedom, and I like you guys too. But I don't need you to watch me every moment of the day. I can take care of myself, I have been taking care of myself for seven years! Kanan I need to take control of my own life once again, but you guys are always bugging me about responsibility. That's why I left!" Ezra said. Kanan was looking at Ezra, if he wasn't blind. "Ezra this is why you can't be a Jedi. We have responsibilities, and you don't. Fine, you know what? You can be Maul's apprentice for all I care." Kanan said, the Holo ended, leaving an upset Ezra and an angry Maul.

That was fun to write. Until next time!
