Maul was hand washing Ezra's clothes. Yes, the Zabrak literally took them off the teens' body, though Maul had no sense of modesty. First of all, his master had him overcome that weakness many years ago and second, since he had no...downward body parts, the most nude he could get was taking off his shirt. So technically, Ezra had seen Maul naked. Luckily the boy wore underwear. Maul replaced Ezra's clothes with grey pajamas and brought him a new blanket to cozy up in. The Zabrak  dipped the colorful shirt into the water and scrubbed roughly to get the filth off of it. Maul sighed, "Just like old times, with just Savage and I running from the Jedi." He murmured. The old Nightbrother turned his head to look down the hall where the familiar face of his apprentice appeared. Ezra walked to the couch with a blanket wrapped around him and holding the stuffed Loth-Cat. Once the boy had sat down, he glanced over at Maul. "So...you took off my clothes while I slept. It's honestly not the first time that's happened. Never bunk with a Lasat." He said. The Zabrak smiled, "I have no plans too. How was your rest, Ezra?" The boy yawned, "Pretty good. Do- do you have any...news on Kanan's new Padawan?" Maul shook his head. Ezra closed his eyes, "Do you think Kanan saw me only for my power? For my potential with the Force? Did he only want me because I was a naive innocent boy and the perfect tool to use?! All those t-times he comforted me...was that all a l-lie?" Ezra cried. Maul quickly embrace the teen. "Perhaps, perhaps not. You honestly could have been found by worst beings in the galaxy... Take Hondo Ohnaka for example, that Weequay would leave you the moment it would prove profitable for him." The Zabrak said. Ezra chuckled quietly, "Yeah, he's done that a few times..." He trailed off. Maul ruffled Ezra's hair affectionately, "See? You're not a bad kid Ezra, perhaps just a bad judge of character. No offense, but you do need to work on that, seriously, you trusted me. The strange old man who had red skin, black tattoos, horns and the Force." Ezra laughed, "Yeah, I should work on that but my parents always said not to judge a book by its cover." The Zabrak sighed. The boy was very kind and forgiving, good qualities but Ezra couldn't see what a being really was. Maul needed to teach him this, or else the cruelty of the Galaxy will.

It's been over a week since I updated, I know. But please forgive me, I'll try to get the next chapter up faster but I can make no promises. And I'm afraid that this story will be ending soon, I hope to make it a good ending. Comments are appreciated and thanks for reading so far!
