Maul 13

Maul and Ezra were on the couch, watching a movie on the HoloNet. Ezra was snuggled in a blanket with the stuffed Loth-cat Maul gave him. It warmed both of Maul's hearts to see his apprentice happy. Ezra apparently had fallen asleep, because he woke up with a cry. Maul immediately looked at his apprentice worriedly, "Ezra are you... all right?" The Zabrak asked. Ezra was crying, he leaned toward Maul looking for comfort. The Nightbrother brought the boy into a hug, "Ezra, please tell me what's wrong?" Maul asked again. Ezra looked at Maul, his face red from crying, "K-Kanan was t-t-trying to h-hurt me! He s-said I w-was supposed to b-be d-d-dead, that the T-temple Guard was right, that I s-should be k-k-killed for having touched the D-dark side." Ezra cried, putting his face into Maul's chest. The Zabrak really didn't know what to do, Ezra was an emotional wreck because he had a nightmare where Jarrus tried to kill him. One day I swear I'm going to tear that Jedi limb from limb. He shouldn't have abandoned Ezra like this, I wanted the boy as my apprentice, but not this way, I wanted him to become my apprentice willingly not because Jarrus left the boy, Maul thought with a growl. Ezra let out a sob, bringing Maul's attention back to the boy. Maul started to purr, he knew Ezra would calm down, the purr was meant to be soothing. Nature had given Nightbrothers the ability to purr to sooth their children, that's why Maul knows Ezra will calm down. A minute later Ezra stopped crying, but his nose was still runny, he looked at the Zabrak, "Maul, were you purring?" Ezra asked, confused. Maul smiled nodding, "Yes I can purr, Nightbrothers can to sooth children." Ezra looked from Maul to the Loth-cat, with a grin. "Does that mean you're related to Loth-cats?" Ezra asked. Maul laughed, Ezra looked like he had forgotten about the nightmare. So they continued to watch the movie in peace, Ezra leaned into Maul's side, holding the stuffed Loth-cat close to him. Maul smiled when he saw Ezra had fallen asleep again, and carried the boy back to his bunk.

There is no Maul/Ezra going on by the way, I just want cute father and son moments between these two. Comments are appreciated. Until next time!
