Link's POV
My heads feeling fuzzy. Actually my whole body feels fuzzy, as I seem to have grown hair in the time that I was passed out; I don't really know how long I was out for actually. I don't remember anything at all; it must have been a rough ride to wherever I am now, my whole body is aching. I stand up from the ground and try to shake off the aching feeling from my body - But, since when could I actually 'shake off' a feeling from my body. I look down and notice through my blurry vision that I now have paws instead of hands and feet - and a tail too? Am I a dog?
"he he he!" I hear a giggle come from behind me. I turn around, looking around the cell that I'm in but I see nothing, the only thing that I see are weird markings on the walls and mold growing from the corners. The air feels cold and damp, and there's a mist of black particles coming from the ground. But surprisingly, the place feels familiar.
"he he he!" I hear the giggle again. This time, I'm a little bit creeped out. Suddenly, a little imp like figure jumps in front of me.
"he he he!" I jump back, slightly frightened at what it is. The imp's small, with a circular head wearing a gray sort of helmet, and it has orange hair flowing out of the sides and back of the helmet. The skin's black with some light blue spots that look like they're glowing. The eye that's visible is a piercing orange and red. I try to talk, but fail; I remind myself that I'm not a human anymore and can't speak. At least to other humans, or human-like beings.
"Getting used to the wolf life yet?" The imp asks. It has a high pitched even when it speaks. I just shake my head, knowing that I wouldn't be able to talk. "Awe, poor wolfy." The imp comes closer to me and tugs on my ear. As a reflex I jump back; I glare my teeth as a reflex and then jump forward to the imp. It jumps backwards, still giggling. "Hey now, don't attack me. If you want my help, you're going to have to do everything I say, follow my rules." Says the Imp. "Deal?"
'Does this imp really expect me to do what she wants?' I think to myself.
"Yes, I really do expect you to do what I want." The Imp replies. "And my name is Midna, if you really want to know."
'Wait, you can read my mind?'
"Yes," She replies "I can read the mind of all animals, especially animals that are humans - oh wait, you aren't a human anymore? are you know?" Says Midna. She giggles as I growl and step forward. "Remember what I said!" She slowly floats toward the bars at the front of the cell, and glides through them.
'How am I supposed to get out?' I think to Midna. She closes her eyes and a spark flies from her hands to the ground beside me. I close my eyes, but when I open them I notice that nothing has happened to me, only the chain that was connected to my paw is now broken in half, and I can freely walk around the cell.
"You need to figure out how to get out of the cell by yourself." She giggled one last time before settling down on a small crate by the wall. So she's going to leave me to find my own way out? I thought she was supposed to help me. I walk around the cell, sniffing around the corners to see if I can find any places to dig into. I sniff around a crate that's laying beside the bars in the front right corner of the cell. I smell something funny - something that smells like soft soil. If there is soft soil, I can dig into it and climb out on the other side.
"Smash the crate, then you'll be able to see what's underneath it." Says Midna. I ready myself a few feet away from the crate, and charge at the crate as fast as I can. It shatters into smaller pieces as my upper body collides into the corner. Recovering from the blow, I open my eyes to find that there's a pile of hay laying there, soaked in soft soil coming from the corner.
