Link's POV

We land in Ordon Spring.  It looks the same from when I was nine years old and still lived in Ordon.  A small waterfall in the back covered in vines and tree branches at the top, along with tall tan coloured rocks from the cliff, covered in brown swirls.  The water is cold flowing around my paws, and it feels as if a weight has been lifted off my back.  I turn my head to see that Midna is gone, nowhere around me.  I look up at the sky and see the sun setting. We're back in the normal world I think to myself.

"Not for long, he he he!"  Sounds Midna's voice.  I turn around but I still can't see her, I can only hear her.  I feel a cold wind beside me, and turn around again; seeing nothing.  "You can't see me because I'm your shadow in the Light World." She says.

What do you mean 'my shadow'? I ask.  I feel another whip of wind but in front of me.  She shadow from underneath me pops up in front of me in the shape of Midna.  The shadow is a mixture of black and grey, and transparent in some places.  The shadow was moving along with Midna's levity. I look down and see that I don't have a shadow, even though I should in this time of day.

"I'm your shadow," She repeats, "Since we're in the Light World, I have to be hidden in a shadow since I cannot be directly exposed to the light in your world.  My powers will fade, I will become weak and eventually I would die." She finishes.

I stand there just looking ahead of me, through Midna's shadow, at the rocks around the spring. I decide to go back to the subject that originally brought me here. What am I supposed to do? You said you needed me to do something I think to her.

Midna giggles. "I do need you to do something," she begins, "and the first thing I need you to do is get me a sword."

Where would I get a sword? I ask.  She swirls around and goes down back into my shadow.  I think she's gone but  she still speaks.

"You're close to Ordon Village. Go check there." She says.  The sun has now fully set, and the stars have come out, glistening behind whispy clouds.  I slowly walk towards the entrance to the spring, looking back at the shining water before leaving the place completely.  I look to my right and see the swaying brige hanging across the cliff.  I turn my head to the left and see the slightly lit path leading towards the Village.  I take a big breath and start heading down the dirt path, to the place I left behind eight years ago.

---

The village hasn't changed much.  The houses are still made out of stone and bark, there are still five houses, and the little bridges that cross the thin river.  It's quiet so I assume that the people must be asleep.  I walk into the village opening to get a better glimpse of the area.  I see a man standing on the flat rock, overlooking the river opening into the lake; I can hear him sobbing.

"Why!" Cries the man.  I crawl over, bowed close to the ground and wall so nothing can see me.  The sobbing grows louder, and I am able to hear him more clearly.  "Why must you beasts take my daughter?!"

Beasts? Beasts took his daughter? I wonder if he's talking about beasts that look like me, or the monsters that I killed on the path to the Village.  The man looks familiar with his thin and short frame, but I can't think of a name right at this moment.  I hear more voices, and turn around to see two more men heading down the path towards the bridge closest to me.  I hide behind the closest building, trying to stop the rattling from the chain on my paw.

"Rusl . . . got injured  . . . sword . . . leave." Is all I can make out from whatever they're saying.  They cross the bridge into another area.  I can recognise one of them as the Mayor of Ordon, he hasn't changed at all from when I left.  I start to walk again, but this time towards the bridge they just crossed.  I cross over it and head into the tall grass by the fence.  I can see them standing beside a picnic table by the house, and I can hear them more clearly as well.
