Episode 13

We still haven't found the others, but I still have faith and hope that they're out there, unharmed and alive. Night fell and we took a break from our walk. Rick and Michonne were asleep while Carl and I took the first watch. We were sitting close to each other and the fire.

"What do you think is there? At Terminus?" I asked.

"Who knows. Signs can be misleading though," Carl pointed out.

"Good point. If it's true what they say about it being a sanctuary for all, I will definitely want to live there," I stated.

"What if it's not?" Carl wondered.

"We fight. They could lure us into a trap. It just feels too good to be true," I answered.

"Now you make a good point. I hope it's right, but like you said, it could also be a trap," Carl replied.

I scooted closer to him and rested my head on his shoulder. I felt him kiss my forehead and I smiled at his touch.

"What's the name of that song you sang to Judith?" he wondered.

"It's called 'Once Upon a December'. It's from this movie I watched when I was a kid called 'Anastasia'," I answered.

"What was it about?" Carl asked.

"This eight year old girl was the daughter of the czar of Imperial Russia. Ten years later, she lives in an orphanage with little memory of her family and who she is. The only clue she has is this necklace that says 'Together in Paris'. She goes there with the help of two men named Dimitri and Vlad. The empress, who is Anastasia's grandmother, promised to pay 10 million rubles to the person who brings her back, so that was the main reason Dimitri and Vlad helped her. The empress and Anastasia found each other from a music box and the necklace was a key. It played that lullaby and she was back with her family. The bad guy was this sorcerer named Rasputin who was responsible for Anastasia's family's death. She defeated him and she and Dimitri got married," I explained best I could.

"Could you sing it for me?" Carl requested.

"Sure," I agreed.

Once Upon a December

"Dancing bears, painted wings,
Things I almost remember,
And a song someone sings,
Once upon a December.

Someone holds me safe and warm,
Horses prance through a silver storm,
Figures dancing gracefully,
Across my memory."

I hummed where the musical interlude would be until the next singing part.

"Someone holds me safe and warm,
Horses prance through a silver storm,
Figures dancing gracefully,
Across my memory.

Far away, long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart used to know,
Things it yearns to remember.

And a song someone sings,
Once upon a December."

By then, Rick and Michonne were up and they took the next watch. Carl and I laid down by the fire and kissed.

"Good night, Sheriff," I giggled.

"Good night, my fighter," Carl chuckled.

We were sound asleep. Tomorrow should be an eventful day.

Episode 14

We woke up and we're back on the road. I thought about if Judith is alive, where would she be now? Tyreese maybe? It's a possibility. It made me feel better if it was him because in a way, he's like a giant teddy bear. We kept walking until we found another sign. It was closer, but we still had a long way to go. I think I've gotten a better workout than I've ever done before the apocalypse started. Haha. Like I said before, the road is a long one, but the adventure awaits.
