Chapter 25: Standing Together

Season 7 Part 4

Episode 13:

I pushed Judith in a stroller around Alexandria, wondering how things at the Kingdom and with Carol were going. I had another day off because everyone was fine. Carl went on a run for a while. I knew because when I woke up, I found a note. It said:

"Hey babe. Sorry I didn't wake you or take you with me on this run, but I was needed for something and wanted to let you sleep in. I promise if we get anything good, you'll get first dibs. I'll make sure of it.
Love you,
Sheriff Carl"

The last part made me giggle and I got up to get Judith. I fed her and put her in the stroller. I continued until I heard my name being called. I turned around to see Tara running toward me. I stopped to let her catch up.

"Hey, what's up?" I wondered.

"Why didn't you go with Carl to get supplies?" she asked.

"He left early and didn't want to wake me. So, I'm babysitting until he gets back. And he said I get first dibs," I answered.

She laughed and said, "I'd hate to argue with the leader's adopted daughter."

We laughed and kept walking as she said, "What are you thinking about?"

"I'm always asked that and it's mainly about me worrying over someone or a group. I keep thinking about the Kingdom and Carol," I responded.

"I understand, but we make it through. We're gonna kill Negan," Tara said.

"I know. A lot of us deserve to kill him," I replied.

That's when the gates opened and Carl came through with a duffle bag filled with stuff. I smiled and looked at Tara.

"Go on. I got Judith," she chuckled and got the stroller.

I smiled bigger and full on ran to him. Did I mention that my gun shot wound was almost healed? I ran to Carl and hugged his neck. He hugged back and when we parted, we kissed.

When we finished, he asked with a teasing smirk, "Did you miss me?"

I giggled and answered, "Yes."

"Take a look," he said.

I looked in and saw he found machetes, knives, cans of food, and a couple of guns with ammo.

"Holy crap, babe," I responded.

He chuckled and said, "Yeah. Today was a really good day."

"I can tell," I remarked.

I took one machete and a huge knife. I kissed Carl and we walked back to the weapon room. After we put the knives and machetes in there, we put up the food and went outside to bury the guns and ammo. This is great; more stuff to take Negan's down.

Episode 14:

I think Hilltop are really working on helping us out take out Negan. It makes me happy yet nervous; well, can you blame me for it? I just hope everything works out for the best.

Plus, we haven't really seen Rosita around; the last thing we need is for anyone to go rogue.

Carl and I have gone on more and more runs to see what we could find, but nothing really came up. We came back and went back to the house.

"I'm gonna get a shower," I said.

"Okay," he answered, smirked, then asked, "Would you mind if you had some company?"

I smiled as I turned back and responded, "I do not mind."

I went up the stairs and made it into the bathroom. I undressed and got in the shower. I let the water run through my hair as I closed my eyes. Then I heard the shower curtain open and I opened my eyes to see Carl getting in the shower. I smiled as he gently grabbed my waist and pulled me closer. He slowly leaned in and he kissed me. Then he kissed my jawline, my neck, and my collar bone. I kissed his cheek as I laid my head on his shoulder and let my fingers drag across one of his biceps and his abs. He looked at me and cupped my face as I held his elbows in my hands.
