Season 6 Part 4

Episode 13

We still haven't heard back from Rick's group in a while and as usual, I'm starting to get worried. Carl has assured me that they're fine, but he also said that it was okay to worry. I changed his patch and we went out for a run. We killed as many walkers as we could and hung out for a while. This was another good day with the man I love.

Episode 14

The next few days seemed to be going in a loop, like everything happened over and over again. I heard that Denise was going on a run with Rosita and Daryl, so I was in charge that day. I liked it, but I didn't know everything. I had a volunteer come in and you can guess who it was: Carl. Sure I've helped with people's injuries, but he's always tended to mine, so I thought 'Why not'. I just have to say that I've never had a distraction when I was at work, but with Carl, that's different. Well, can you blame a girl? Daryl, Rosita, Abraham, and Eugene made it back, but they told us Denise was dead. When they told me that, a lot of weight went on my shoulders. I was now the official doctor of Alexandria.

Episode 15

It felt really crazy that I was the only person left who was capable of being a doctor. I really felt a lot of pressure. Carl and I went into the armory for a while. I shook a little as I held one of the guns. I felt a hand on mine and looked to see Carl, looking at me with reassurance.

"Hey, everything is going to be okay," he told me.

I hugged him as the tears fell then said, "I'm scared."

"I know. But didn't you tell me that fear is a way to motivate people?" he pointed out.

I chuckled weakly and answered, "Yeah. I felt that when I was helping you with your eye."

"Do the same for the people here," he said.

"I will," I promised.

"I love you," he replied.

"I love you too," I responded.

We kissed until we heard someone come in. It was Abraham; he told us Rick and Morgan went after Carol while some others went after Daryl. We were also told not to leave Alexandria. We nodded and went back to take care of Judith for a while. I read my notes and medical books again; if I do it anymore, I could memorize and recite them like a damn speech. I've learned as much stuff as I could since Hershel first taught me. I held my keychain and necklace, thinking about how much faith Carl had in me. It was unlimited like our love for each other. I smiled, knowing that I have everyone's full support with this.

But what also came to mind was how Tara would find out that Denise was dead. If she came to the infirmary asking where she was, I would tell her. I wasn't happy about it, but it would have to be done eventually. She needed to know.

Episode 16

We found out what happened with Maggie. I checked her out while Carl and Enid went to the armory. I told Maggie that none of the medicines could help her, so we had to go to the Hilltops. Carl finally came back to help me get Maggie to the RV.

"Where's Enid?" I asked.

"I locked her into the armory closet. I wasn't going to let her come," he answered.

"Then why are you letting me come?" I wondered.

"Because I know you can help with this. She doesn't know what to do for Maggie; you do. Now let's go," he replied.

We got Maggie and helped her into the RV. The others piled in and we were off. I treated her best I could on the way there. Aaron came for a little while then Rick. He assured her that everything would be okay. Carl was in the doorway and when I looked his way, he smiled at me and I did the same. We gave her water to help, but then we stopped. Some of Negan's group was blocking the road. We all went outside to face them. They wanted to make a deal to take our stuff and they would only kill one of us. But Rick didn't agree. We went back in the RV, but the conversation kept going. Finally Rick came back in and we backed away from them.

I saw Carl looking out the window then talking to Aaron. They talked about why they came. Aaron owed Maggie while Carl said he owed everyone here. I held his hand and kissed his cheek in reassurance.

"You guys are really great together. Hold on to each other," Aaron said.

"I plan on it," I smiled.

"Same," Carl smirked.

I leaned my head on his shoulder and he kissed my temple. We went a different route for the Hilltops. But that way was blocked by more of Negan's group. Carl said we should end it and I agreed. But Rick said not now. We slowly backed up and turned around.

We were pretty good on gas, but we were blocked off by walkers tied with chains. We grabbed our guns and other weapons and headed outside with Abraham behind the wheel. Before we could do anything, we were being shot at. Rick got us in the RV and cleared us a path to get through. We made it, but for how long?

Maggie was getting a fever, so I got a cold rag and placed it on her forehead. We stopped again and a larger group of Negan's was blocking our way. We were at 1/3 of a tank of gas and it seemed like we weren't getting anywhere. Rick talked to Maggie and promised her we'd get her there. I just sat at the table with Carl as he held my hand. Then we stopped again because there was a huge pile of trees in the middle of the road. Then someone jumped and hung himself. Then Negan's group burned the trees. We got back in the RV and tried to figure something out.

When nightfall came, I couldn't quit fidgeting as Maggie was getting worse. Carl hugged me and I leaned into his embrace.

"What are we gonna do?" I asked.

"We'll find a way. We always do," he answered.

We kissed then we all got Maggie on a stretcher and carried her through the woods. Carl and I were taking out any walkers that were in front of us. Carl promised us that he wouldn't let anyone die like Denise did ever again.

Then we heard whistling nearby. We ran as fast as we could until a blinding light shined in front of us. We were surrounded by people and whistling. It was all of Negan's group. They had Eugene hostage from what we saw. One of the guys made us hand over our weapons. He even taunted Carl a little bit, which really made me mad. They demanded us to get on our knees and we helped Maggie do so as well. I was in between Carl and Eugene as we all got on our knees. Then they brought out Daryl, Rosita, then Michonne and Glenn.

Then the man of the hour showed up, Negan. You knew it was him because of his bat wrapped in barbed wire. He asked who was the leader and one of his men pointed to Rick. I began to panic on the inside but kept a brave face on the outside. Negan kept saying that we worked for him now and we needed to give him our stuff. Then he said how he didn't want to kill any of us, but one of us had to die for the death of his people. He introduced his bat to us, which he called Lucille. He went up to Abraham, then Carl, then Maggie. But Glenn screamed for them not to kill her and jumped at them, but they stopped him. He came up to Carl and me, but Rick yelled for him to stop. He went to each of us to decide who to kill. Then he picked someone and I couldn't watch. So I cried and kept my eyes shut. It was a total bloodbath.

A/N For now, Rick's group is screwed. And who did Negan kill? Like I said before, if you haven't seen the episodes from Season 7, don't read this just yet.
