By the time I snapped out of my flashback he was already helping me to my feet and wiping the tears and blood away from my eyes. I hurt so much I didn't even try to argue. Once I was to my feet I put almost all my weight on him but he easily helped me walk. Together we walked through this new strange world. While he helped me he asked me questions.
"So... I know falling down into a place you didn't even know existed is probably, um, weird. But what's your name?" He asked.
"Chara." I answered.
He nodded and told me happily, "Chara, what a nice name! My name is Asriel. Asriel Dreemurr."
We talked about simple things like how I was feeling or what was my favorite food. Of course, I answered dark chocolate. Bitter tasting foods are the best! He said chocolate isn't food but I insisted on it. After what seemed like an hour of walking, he stopped and I looked up at a small but adorable house.
"This is my home." Then he said kindly, "I'm sure my parents will be able to fix you up." He yelled for his parents to come outside.
His mom came rushing out of the house. She looked a lot like him with white fuzzy fur and big eyes but she was tall... much taller than he was. She wore a purple dress with a white apron and small dull horns on top of her head. She knelt down beside both of us.
She didn't even question who I was or why I was here instead she just immediately knelt down and assured me, "Everything will be alright, little girl."
She rubbed her hands together and a neon green haze appeared and slowly flowed across my wounds. The mist was quite cold. My cut skin began to knit back together and my pain was lessened into nearly nothing.
I flipped out and thought wildly, Black magic! Black magic! She's healing me with the cold green fog stuff!
Then she spoke calmly, "I am Toriel and this is my son Asriel. Presumably he has already told you that." I nodded, her voice was quiet calming.
Then from inside the home a deep but jolly voice sounded, "And I am Asgore. King of monsters." After stating this he marched out of the house to join his family. He wore a golden suit of armor and a long purple cape. Asgore also had pearly white fur with very little yellow at the end of his beard and long curving horns.
Then I noticed something. I mentally slapped myself in the face, why didn't I realize this before. This is a walking and talking goat family. No wonder Asriel told me they were monsters! The people of my village were right...
Toriel laughed and said, "No need to tell them our position of our monarchy. Do not worry, young one, we are still a normal loving family."
Asgore put his hand on Toriel's shoulder and said, "Let us go inside. And we can discuss matters. Asriel it is late you must head off to bed."
"But... but they just showed up!!" Asriel complained.
Asgore gave a warning look I knew Asriel's attempt at staying up failed. Asriel sighed, "See ya in the morning. Good night!" And he slowly walked inside. I was honestly only comfortable around him... I mean he's so far the only person I've talked to.
Toriel sat me down in a tall wooden chair at their dinning table then she said, "Goodnight Gorey. Oh, and in celebration of your arrival, I shall wake up bright and early to make you a marvelous Butterscotch Cinnamon Pie. I know you'll love it. Okay goodnight now." That sounded good.
Then she walked away and I was left alone with Asgore. I kept my head low not making eye contact but I answered all of Asgores questions honestly.
"So what is what is your name, small one." Asgore's deep voice echoed through the now quiet house.
"Chara." I said simply. I felt as if I'd been taken in for questioning.
"Are the humans nice? I mean I haven't seen a human for many many years and the last time I have seen humans they were killing us and forcing us to flee into this mountain." He sounded angry for a moment and I must have flinched or something because he sighed, "I'm sorry, Chara. It's just that I would lay down my own life if it was needed. My people come first, no matter the cost. I didn't mean to sound so harsh we just had a bad experience with humans. Maybe they have changed over the years of our disappearance."
"Well, I might as well tell you because there is nothing you can do to stop it anyways... humans are awful creatures. They fight each other for the most stupid reasons. A-and a horrible sickness is floating around and my father..." I nearly threw up saying his name out loud. I shook it off quick though, "We fight each other because we have no one else to place punishments on... some humans don't even care for their own children." I squeezed my eyes shut and said almost in a pouting voice, "Humans are horrible, terrifying, and disgusting creatures and I am ashamed to even be considered as one."
Asgore was silent for a long time. I just kept looking down, determined no to look him in th eyes. After a long time, awkwardness filled the air, and he made sure I knew that I had just made a scene. My eyes started to dart around their kitchen area.
At long last Asgore sighed and told me, "You have been through a lot, I can see sorrow and pain in your eyes. There, there now. Everything is fine down here. No one can harm nor cause you pain down here. We just have to come to an understanding of each other and live in peace."
Asgore's face dropped suddenly and he said very seriously, "So Chara. Why did you fall down? Were you pushed? Did you fall on accident? How?"
"..."
"I understand your tired and probably scared but I need to know the answers to these questions. Just so that we can understand each other better." Asgore was still serious.
"Fine." I said trying not to sound rude but did anyways, "I jumped myself. Intentionally." I glared at my leather boots and spat, "Happy now you hunk of meat."
He looked stunned for a second but recovered. "But you hurt yourself, Chara! Asriel told me you didn't know that we existed... Why would you hurt yourself intentionally?"
My eye's squeeze shut, I have been trying so hard to contain my anger but I erupted! I slammed my hands on the table and blurted out, "I'M NOT GOING TO TELL YOU ALL OF MY LIFE'S PROBLEMS!! I WOULD MUCH RATHER BE DEAD THAN ALIVE RIGHT NOW AND YOU SCREWED ALL OF THAT UP!" Tears streaked down my face. I yelled out again, "HOPE YOU'RE GLAD YOU GOT YOUR ANSWERS GOAT MAN. YOU SHOULD KNOW I'M A MEAN BITCH WHEN YOU POKE AT ME. EVER HEAR THE SAYING 'DON'T POKE THE BEAST?!' HOPE YOU'RE LIFE IS ALL SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS."
I hopped down the large chair and kicked it down angrily. I lifted my sleeve up and dryed my eyes... then I remembered my knife in my pocket and drew it out. I aggressively pointed it at him and chucked it past his ear while screaming. It slammed into the wall behind him, breaking paint away from it landed. I sighed, maybe I'm being a bit harsh. I was horrified at my own actions and flinched away. Then my eyes wide in horror and I whispered, "Sorry... I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to..." I backed up slowly while repeating these words. I kept going until I hit a wall. I slid down the wall and brought my knees to my chest.
I glanced up for a second and saw his hands were about to go for his giant red trident he had beside him. He looked really pissed off and almost terrified. Then he slowly lowered his hands after he saw me crying. I always tried my hardest not to cry in front of people unless it was urgent. Damn it, I showed my weak side. We locked eye for about two second before I ripped my horrified look away.
"It is okay, Chara. Everything will be okay." He sighed and attempted to brightened up the atmosphere while standing up from the dinning chair, "Now time for bed, I have set up a place for you to sleep on the giant armchair until we can get another bed for you. I'll explain further on things later. Good night, child. Please release any pain that you may have stored in your soul." He smiled sorrowfully at me and stood up and trotted away, with the wood underneath his feet creaking.
I walked over to the new hole in the wall and plucked my knife out. I wasn't actually going to hurt him, I just threw it past him as a warning shot. It didn't matter though... it still made it's mark. Then I made my way over to their couch in their small living room and snuggled up in the blankets. The blankets were fuzzy and warm. Also the armchair truly was huge. I wiped my tears away from my eyes. I curled up in a ball and passed out until morning.
