~four years later.~
We were outside, hanging out in Waterfall like we do normally. The monsters of the Underground sure do love parties, so when my birthday rolled around, my party went on for weeks! I personally never liked parties or presents but I let everyone have their fun. My 14th birthday had just pasted and Asriel and I decided to escape the party for one day and just hang out at Waterfall. We just finished playing a very competitive game of 'don't fall into the water.' It's exactly what it sounds like. We were drying off because we pushed each other into the water after we finished the game. "Okay, Chara, are you ready? Do your creepy face!" Asriel said jumping up in my face.
I laughed opened my eyes wide so he could see my deep red eyes but just enough shade to cover my pupils and I smiled creepily not a toothy smile but a small smile almost a frown. Then I stopped when I saw the video camera in his hands and I playfully shoved him as he screamed.
"AHHHH! Hee hee hee! Oh! Wait I had the camera lens on..."
I shook my head. I'm not going to give the camera my creepy face only real monsters. Live in the moment!
Asriel started to complain to me causing me to almost laugh. "What?! You're not gonna do it again? Come on, quit tricking me!"
I turned on the rocks and sat down on the rocks and got our lunches out. Then while we ate our packed lunches we played some cards. The out of the blue, Undyne and the skeleton with a red scarf came walking by. Undyne spotted us and ran over dragging the skeleton by his scarf. "Hey punks! How's it hanging?"
"Good! Hehe!!! You wanna play with us?" Asriel ask holding up a deck of cards.
"Heck ya I do! Papyrus you wanna play?" Undyne asked the skeleton. I assumed his name is Papyrus.
Undyne was maybe in her mid twenties now and Papyrus looked nearly the same age as her but maybe he was just tall, kind of hard to guess a skeletons age anyways. I heard that Monsters live for five times longer than the average of a human, it was sad news for me I guess, but I didn't care. Dad was actually training Undyne for the Royal Guard. Weird fact was that she was only being trained because she got into a humiliating fight with dad after she challenged him to a fight. She didn't land a single blow in him, he felt bad and has been training her ever since then.
"WHY YES THE GREAT PAPYRUS WOULD LOVE TO PLAY CARDS WITH THE ROYAL CHILDREN!" Papyrus sat down beside me and then said, "OH! I DON'T THINK WE HAVE EVER PROPERLY MET! I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS! AND YOU ARE?"
I smiled kindly and said, "I'm Chara, Chara Dreemurr." Papyrus was loud and spoke his mind no matter what anyone thought.
"NOW MY BROTHER WILL BE HERE SOON TO TAKE ME HOME SO YOU CAN MEET HIM THEN! BUT FOR NOW LETS PLAY!"We all shouted YA in unison so loud that a Woshua came out of his home and told us to be quiet.
We laughed and played 'Go Fish' for about an hour and then Papyrus's brother showed up. He was barely taller than the last time I saw him. Which the last time I saw him was six years ago, in the Snowdin Forest! How has he only grown less than an inch. He was still the tiny white figure in the blue jacket and baggy black pants.
"hey papyrus. time to get home." Papyrus's brother said.
"OKAY! OH, CHARA! THIS IS SANS! SANS THIS IS CHARA, THE ROYAL FAMILIES DAUGHTER." Papyrus proudly said.
"hmm. nice. hey undyne i think you might be missing you private lessons with asgore. check the time." The entire time he was staring at me, not a single glance away. The look in his eyes wasn't a kind one but it wasn't a mean one either, it was a mysterious look I still can't describe. I could tell by his facial expression that something about me bothered him. It's hard to explain almost like he saw into my soul or something. Creepy. "whelp, i gotta say, asriel, you have really grown up since the last time i've seen you! nice meeting you, chara." Sans put an emphasis on my name but only long enough for me to notice. "well, gotta run, lets go papyrus." and with that Sans turn on his slippers and walked away.
"BYE GUYS!!!"
We all said BYE in unison. Undyne then looked at my face and said, "Yo! You look like you've just seen a ghost! Was Napsablook stalking you?!"
"What! No! Blooky is amazing. He would never do such a thing." I laughed.
"Well, then what's with your face!" Undyne was laughing now. "Oh! Sans was right! Shoot! Sorry kids! Gotta run! Asgore's training with me start a minute ago! See ya punks!" And with that she was sprinting out of Waterfall.
"Hey, Asriel."
"Huh?" Asriel obviously was tired because he zoned out.
"Ha! I caught you! You own me a chocolate bar when you get home. And not milk chocolate. Nice bitter dark chocolate!" I clapped in triumph.
"Awww, I hate the zone out deal. Ughhh okay..." Asriel sighed.
Then we started on back to the house. On our way there we bumped into Dr. Gaster. This was the first time I've ever saw him. He was indeed a skeleton but he had cracked lines on either side of his face and two holes in his hands. He looked at me for a long time, didn't even bother to look at Asriel. He looked murderous for a second, like he was going to destroy me right then and there, but then he put on a forced fake smiled and ran away towards the castle holding onto papers tightly. Not a good first experience with Dr. Gaster. He's so weird, I've never even had a proper greeting with him in all my six years of living down here, and I know just about everyone. Odd that both Sans and him seemed bothered with me. I shoved that idea away and then we continued onward home.
