What Went Wrong?

Chapter 26

Frisk turned around and looked at the gigantic Lab. Was Dr. Gaster there?! Was he working on another mysterious project of his?! I wasn't to thrilled to see him again so when Frisk started towards the Lab I wasn't to happy. Then doors slid open and they walked into a dark Lab with the only thing on, that being the huge screen that displayed a video of Frisk. It's like a T.V show because it was LIVE feed. I looked around and spotted a camera on the ceiling. Has Gaster been monitoring Frisk the whole time? That creepy old skeleton. Then suddenly the bathroom door opened and out came a shadowy figure I've never seen before. What in the world...? The lights turned on and we both looked shocked to see a yellow dinosaur like monster in a lab coat. They were wearing giant round glasses and nervously spoke super fast about how they weren't ready for you to be here so soon. Also how they were still preparing when she slowed down and introduced herself as Dr. Alphys.

"Dr. Alphys? What about Dr. G-?" I was cut off by a sudden loud crash.

I looked around frantically and so did Frisk. Alphys looked nervous again and then told Frisk that she made a robot and made it have anti-human combat features. The the crashes became louder and louder until there was a big bang and a drum roll. I opened up my eyes and my eyes nearly popped out of me head. Mettaton?!

"OOHHH YES! Welcome Beauties... To Todays Quiz Show!" Mettaton announced.

His theme music played. The Underground's number one and only celebrity was right there! Mettaton was right in front on me! OH MY GOD! I immediately clapped with him. I remembered all of his episodes! Is he still on T.V? How much have I missed?! Probably like 19 seasons or more! I glanced at Frisk and saw their face confused and scared look at the same time. I couldn't help but laugh at them a little. I'm seeing my T.V idol in front of me live! I'm fangirling so hard right now!

I smiled so wide! Then my smile disappear just as fast as it came when Mettaton started to attack Frisk. Was Frisk in trouble, if so I'm still here to help. Frisk stood there panicked and looked at Dr. Alphys who was behind Mettaton. Then suddenly Frisk smiled, they didn't seem to be scared anymore. Instead they looked straight into the camera recording the 'Quiz Show' and the smiled and struck a pose. I'm sure the fans went wild! I glance over at Dr. Alphys and I noticed she was giving all the answers to the quiz show.

"Frisk, look! Dr. Alphys is giving you the answers." I told them. I pointed at Alphys even though they couldn't see me. I felt like I was actually there even though I technically wasn't.

I noticed their smiled widened and quickly answered correctly. Fake applause erupted for a short moment and then Mettaton switched to the next question. Frisk continued this little quiz show until Mettaton caught on to Alphys cheating and suddenly put her in the spotlight asking who she had a crush on. She went super red and shook her hands like motioning they not to answer the question.

Frisk wiggled her eyebrows and answered, "OOHHHHHH! I think I knooow!" They lingered and bounced on the word 'know.' Frisk smiled sheepishly, "Is it the lovely UNDYNE?!"

Alphys went so red I thought she might pass out. I could tell she was so embarrassed. Mettaton made a huge deal about it before ending the show and waving a quick bye!

Alphys seemed a bit off and she scratched her toes into the floor and left us to wander the science lab for awhile. Frisk wandered around and examined everything there was to offer until they decided to finally leave. But before we could go Alphys stopped us and ripped Frisk's phone from their hand and ran to her lab station to improve it. When she gave it back it looked like a whole new device. Then Frisk waved a lovely goodbye to walked out of the old lab.

The instant they set foot in Hotland I noticed the sweat on their face. It was swelting here! I may not be able to feel the temperatures as a ghost but I could sense the heat radiating off of objects and people. It was to bad they wore a sweater. Suddenly a loud buzz notification snapped me out of my thoughts. I realized that this annoying notification sound on Frisk's phone was going to go off every single time Alphys talked to them... which will be throughout all of Hotland. 'This is going to be a long trip...' I thought annoyed. Frisk simply ignored my pessimistic thoughts.

After a while of tuning out Frisk's thoughts I started to pay attention to my surrounding. Hotland was even more 'alive' than it once was. There were more people, which made it hotter, and weird gizmos and gadgets everywhere that speeded up the simple walking cycle. Also Mettaton seemed to become even more of a star, having cooking shows and a stage all to herself. I couldn't believe how big he's gotten! I watched and participated along as I watched her cooking show, and her local news cast, and a live performance on her stage with Frisk! I was so jealous, I wished I could have done that in person!

I also got to see Muffet for the first time in forever! She was so much bigger than the first time I saw her and her... 'pet' was quiet ravenous. Frisk was impressive during her battle. They would dodge almost everything very precisely and jump from web to web only having difficulties trying to escape Miss. Muffet's dumb 'pet.' I guess she became more and more greedy for money over the years.

After another extended period of time walking, watching Frisk stumble around, and sparing monsters we finally made it to MTT's Resort! I've never actually been inside of the resort because it's way to expensive for nearly anyone and also we just never had the time to go. Just to eat here you have to reserve your table, and your chairs, your silverware, and so on and so forth. Frisk didn't go inside right away, instead they went over to Sans, I didn't even notice him there before. Since I didn't really care for Sans what so ever, I sat down in a pout while being dragged along side Frisk. I wondered if Sans could see me or something because he didn't keep eye contact with Frisk the entire time, he would every so often look down where I sat and something in his expression would change But only a slight change. Like he was thinking about something. He had the look on his face like something close to hatred or maybe fear, not to sure. But he never looked down at me long, almost like he didn't want Frisk to notice.

Eventually he took Frisk's hand and walked to the right alley way. Everything turned black, but only for a second. Then when my vision came back again, Sans and Frisk sat across from each other. The room was very elegant and the tables were in the shape of Mettaton. Then I payed a little more attention to their conversation. Sans was talking something about knock knock jokes and then I realized he was talking about keeping Toriel company with knock knock jokes through the locked door in Snowdin. I had a sudden greatfulness for Sans, since I've experienced absolute loneliness for almost one hundred years I know it can be very hard. Toriel was always so used to being surrounded by family all the time it must have been the most difficult thing in the world for her to up and leave dad and sit in loneliness for all this time. I smiled at Sans maybe we could come to an understanding and leave this discomfort behind us. I stood up from my sitting position and stood beside Frisk, Snas eyed me again. It was a nice thought for just a moments until I heard the next thing he dangerously told Frisk.

"You'd be dead where you stand." His eyes were completely black, no life in them at all, it seemed like the world around us was gone and frozen.

I glanced at Frisk to see their face tremble into an emotion of shock and horror. But his deadly expression didn't last, for within a second he straightened up and he was smiling again and nothing seemed to have changed, everything went back to normal. I lowered my head slightly but never broken his eye contact. He wasn't looking at Frisk but slightly behind them, he was glaring straight into my eyes. I wondered he was just looking at the wall or if he could really see me, it freaked me out but I wasn't about to let him make me back down. I bawled up my fists and my knife was already automatically in my hands, I stared him down until he finally gave up and continued to try and talk to Frisk in a light banter. I put my knife away in hopes that I scared him enough to know that I wasn't going to let any harm come to Frisk. On his way out he glance at me again and for a fraction of a second his eye lit up in flames and then he disappeared.
