"Just on time for dinner, children!" queen mom said. "So how was your day? Was it fun?" She went on another rant asking us questions forever. You know the normal Toriel. Then mom sat us down at the dinner table and served us just as king dad came home.

Dad, jolly as always and chanted, "Good evening, family! How was your night?"

"Good just like every night for the past six years!" I said cheerfully. "Can you believe that I fell down a little over six years ago?!"

"No I can't! I like to believe you have been here everyday of my life!" Asriel hugged me as mom set food down on the table.

We all sat down and talked about our day and ate dinner. Mom and dad seemed pleased that we had a good day. Then I thought about Dr. Gaster and how we ran into him earlier.

I then said, "Hey, dad, we ran into Dr. Gaster today." Dad set his food down rather quickly and looked at me and I continued to tell him about what happened. "Ya, he was acting weird around me like he wanted to hurt me and then he ran away as if I were a virus. It was weird." Asriel was nodding in agreement to my statement. Dad looked over to mom who looked confused.

"Well, I have some good and bad news about this experience you happen to run into." Asriel and I looked at each other quickly said good news first.

Dad nodded and then said happily, "Well I haven't told anyone the news yet but, Dr. Gaster has figured out a way to shatter the barrier!"

Mom looked really excited and Asriel and I shouted HURRAY in unison again and then I whispered to him, "Maybe we can see the golden flower garden from my village!" He smiled back at me. Although I was actually thinking about going back to my old adoptive mothers house and torturing her back. Then dad got our attention again by coughing politely.

All three of us focused our attention back to dad again as he put his head down and said, "As you know there is a down side to this though... it's so awful I'm afraid I'm going to not break the barrier..."

"What! But dad, people have been waiting more than I have been alive to get out of here!" Asriel protested.

Dad sighed and said, "I know son. But to break the barrier. Would mean I would have to kill and take seven humans to get seven human souls."

Everyone was silent. I wasn't a nice silence either it was one of the silences of shock and horror. Mom put her hand to her face and cried. Asriel got up from the table and walked away. Dad was comforting mom trying to get her to calm down. And me, I felt broken. Broken was my middle name. Everyone was heart broken. I said I would do anything for mom and dad to repay them. Was this how I die, repaying them for taking me in and saving my life? If so I would do it willingly. I would give them my soul if it meant saving the rest of the monsters.

After a long time of sitting at the dinner table I looked up and noticed that three hours have passed and everyone was asleep and a note sat beside a piece of chocolate cake. It read,
'Don't worry we won't disturb you. This is a lot to take in not only for you but to us and for us to give up our hope that easily... but it's alright. We have you for a daughter and Asriel for a son and that's all that matters. We do ask once you come out of your shocked state that you go to sleep after eating the cake. Please it is really late.
Love, mom and dad.'

I let a tear slip down my cheek. Why would seven human souls have to break the barrier. Why not like a pentagram of rare items or something work?! Or why not just one?! I would give up my soul even though many love me I would do it for them. After another long thirty minutes I finished the cake and put the plate in the sink and washed it.

I tip-toed down the hallway and slowly opened up our bedroom door. I peeked in and say Asriel already sound asleep. I plopped down on my bed and pulled the covers over me. I slowly let my eyes shut.

Then I sat up so fast I got a lightheaded for a second. I griped my head and rushed out of bed and grabbed a piece of paper and pencil and start rapidly scribbling down my genius idea. I stayed up all night writing and planning out this incredible idea. For this would save everyone!
