Curious about how Liyah and Nick met?
Back in elementary, Nick was often bullied. He was always pushed around and used as paint projects (I mean he was the art… he was filled with art). Liyah was just an ordinary girl in Nick’s classes. She never really cared about bullies or victims. But she hated guys most of all. Seeing Nick like that, Liyah knew he was different… different from the average guy that’d rape anyone. When Liyah saw his eyes, he was calm, kind, gentle, and innocent. She knew immediately that he wasn’t one of those guys… the jerks.
One day, Nick was, again, being made into an art project. He was just sitting in the corner, crying, while all the other guys painted his clothes and body. Liyah couldn’t stand it anymore. She went and beat up all of them… yes, all of them. Doubtlessly, she was a good fighter. She’d kick guys in their nuts if she had to. But she saved Nick… the first boy she didn’t hate. Nick cried and thanked her.
“Stay away from those bullies next time.” She smiled. He didn’t know who he was, but as he was on the floor filled with paint, I watched this amazing girl shimmer with the light. It was amazing how she was so brave and strong… and she’s… she’s so warm. This girl that smiled saved me.
Everyday, Nick’d wait for Liyah to come to school, and he’d walk with her. Even when Liyah hated guys, she enjoyed talking with Nick. As she claimed, he was different.
As the days passed, Nick and Liyah became really close and decided to go on the same High School together… yes, to Neptune High.
Of course, it was impossible for Nick to stay around Liyah and not have even the slightest crush on her. In his case, he really liked Liyah… no, he more than liked Liyah. He saw her strong guts and bravery which were really inspiring for him.
And because of High School gossips, it was pretty unsurprising that Liyah and Nick would be teased as couples even when they were just freshmen. Of course, Liyah didn’t mind it, but Nick saw that as a great opportunity to court Liyah since he’s really in love with her.
The, he started courting her even with her new crazy friend, Laura. She’d always tease Nick and Liyah to have sex or whatever. It was really awkward. Eventually, Nick’s courting got to somewhere. Liyah didn’t know what the feeling of having a boyfriend was, so she accepted Nick as her boyfriend out of curiosity.
It was the best day for Nick though it was nothing for Liyah. Nick took Liyah to dates at least once every week. Liyah was really interested to know what it feels like to kiss or to have butterflies in the stomach though she didn’t really get that with Nick. Months and months passed, and they were still together. Liyah had figured out what the feelings were that she was so curious about. They were nothing to her.
The dates? They were just like visiting a carnival or having dinner… nothing special.
The kisses? They felt like I was kissing my mom.
The butterflies in the stomach? They didn’t really happen to me.
Her curiosity didn’t really bring her to any kind of excitement or satisfaction. They were simply there to kill boredom. There was just one thing left in her curiosity… sex.
Liyah had sex with Nick one time in her mom’s couch, but she didn’t feel anything special. It was just like being raped by a stranger… It was nothing.
Liyah couldn’t stand it. She knew it was bad, so she broke up with him to stop the madness.
“I’m just not in love with you, Nick. You’re just my friend.”
Those were the harshest words Nick ever heard… and it came from the girl that saved him. He was devastated… left in pieces… and broken.
Nick wasn’t the same. He was still nice to Liyah, but the sparks he felt were gone. He was friend-zoned. There wasn’t really anything he could have done. He did his best, but he was just not meant to succeed.
“I know I gave up, but I still believe that one day, you’ll come to love me, too.”
