I had a hunch that it was a bad idea to come, and I got nervous as hell. Well, it was a dinner with Winnie and Alex, so it was a little too awkward. Around five in the afternoon, Laura, Harvey and, I got to the diner that we randomly chose. That diner was just outside an amusement park, and it just looked pretty nice. It wasn’t anything fancy. I didn’t even remember the name of the place. It’s not like I tried. I was a little occupied since I didn’t know what to say once Winnie and Alex would come. I just hoped that they didn’t. We chose our seats and waited on the table for a waitress to come, and Laura and Harvey were already smooching all over. That table was round and could fit about six people. The chair was like one big semi-circle couch, and Laura and Harvey sat together, of course. I tried to set a distance since it seemed a little awkward.

“Any word on Alex and Winnie?” I asked Harvey, and they both stopped kissing and flirting.

“Well, Sander said he’d go. He didn’t really say if he’d be with Winnie.” Harvey said.

“Was he with her when you called?” I asked again, and Harvey smiled like he found my expression a little interesting. I hoped he wasn’t planning on doing something annoying or whatever.

“Why are you so curious about Sander? Maybe you have a crush on him.” Harvey teased. I felt a little annoyed. Harvey already knew about my feelings for Alex, yet he continued teasing me. He probably wanted Laura to know. When I looked at Laura, she was staring at me. I hoped she wasn’t thinking that Alex was the reason I cried in the ladies’ before. “But you should be careful. He has a girlfriend. You could just go for Nick. He’s always the good guy for you.”

“Zip it! What do you know?” I yelled at him, and my hands clenched. They both seemed a little alarmed with my reaction. Well, it was a little uncontrollable, so I calmed down. “I’m sorry. I was just a little bothered.”

“Hey, hey, I was just kidding. I’m sorry if that upset you.” Harvey apologized.

“I’m sorry, too.” I shook my head and held my forehead because I was getting a little dizzy. “I’m really just bumped about all this.”

“All this what?” Laura asked out of nowhere, and it hit me. “What are you even worrying about? It’s almost the end of school. We should be having fun!”

“Yeah.” I sighed and held my cheeks. I wished I could say it like that, too. It was a peaceful day, with no school stuff, but it was stressing for me. I was running out of time with Alex, and I felt like I’d lose him if I didn’t do anything. “I’m sorry. Just ignore me. Go back to your flirting.”

“By the way, I already texted Nick. He said he’d come.” Laura said out of the blue, and it struck me.

“What?” I panicked. “Why would you do that?”

“Why not? What’s wrong with you two these days? I don’t even see you hang out anymore.”

“It’s complicated.” I said. “Things went crazy between us, so I just didn’t want to talk to him.”

“Really? His text seemed really happy when I told him that we wanted to see him.”

“You mean we? As In, we, I’m included in that we?” I told her.
