The next thing I knew, we made it to Neptune High. It was a good thing that the snow briefly stopped, but the place was still covered in snow. Sharon, Laura, and I went in time for the dance in the gym of Neptune High. It was nighttime, so there weren’t much people in Neptune… only those who went to the dance. When we got to the gym, there were a lot of students already, but it wasn’t even half of the population of the seniors and juniors. I guessed it was a little too early. There were still those who weren’t going, too. In Sharon’s case, she wanted to go despite her condition. She seemed pretty desperate to make friends.

We wondered off the big gym. It was pretty well-designed. There were white designs everywhere, and it really felt like it was snowing inside. There were these small white confetti that seemed like snow. There were people dancing. There were people fooling around. There were those who were seated on tables. There was soft music playing. It really felt like a dance to me. It was delightful since it was the first dance that I showed up.

Laura separated from us. She said she was going to look for Harvey, so I was left with Sharon to wander off the dance floor. I was looking for Alex, of course. I wanted to see him, and I wanted him to see me. I was drowning myself with daydreams again.

“Liyah!” someone called me. When I checked, it was Steve Jobbs who sitting with a girl. I guessed she was his girlfriend. I walked to them, and Sharon followed me.

“Hey, Steve!” I got to them. “How’s it going? It’s been a while.”

“Yeah! Been doing fine! Thanks for the project. I barely did anything. This is my girlfriend by the way.” He pointed on the girl with him.

“Hi! Franchesca.” She introduced herself and offered me a hand shake.

“Liyah Loveworth. It’s a pleasure.” I shook her hand. “It’s spelled weirdly.”

“I know. You’re famous actually, and pleasure’s mine.” She said. She, then, noticed Sharon who was standing behind me, looking shy again. Franchesca wanted to introduce herself and offered another hand shake to Sharon. “Hi there! A friend of Liyah’s?”

“I’m…” Sharon doubted again. She was giving her hand, but she couldn’t touch Franchesca’s. She was too shy. Franchesca smiled in wait. Finally, she shook hands with Franchesca. “Sharon Stone.”

“Sharon Stone?” Franchesca repeated like she knew Sharon from before.

“So, she’s Sharon Stone.” Steve said.

                “I’m famous?” Sharon said nervously.

“It seems to be.” I said, smiling at Sharon. She looked at me, and she was still looking nervous.

“You’re the girl that everyone’s been looking for.” Steve said.

                “Everyone?” Sharon didn’t get it.

“I heard you were in the hospital for months. Your friends miss you. Even the teachers miss you.” Franchesca added.

“I have friends?” Sharon asked with curiosity. I was a bit surprised, too. Sharon said to me before that Alex and I were the only friends she had. What did Franchesca mean by saying that Sharon’s friends missed her?
