Walking up to Daryl as he returns from an over one week run. He looks overly tired and sore. And you know the discussion you want to have with him will make him angry.
"I gotta talk to you bout two weeks ago." You say, following him into the hallway.
"Ain't talkin bout that." He mumbles not looking at you. Two weeks ago, you both shared an intimate night, not because you two are involved. But out of loneliness and just the pressure of the crumbling world around you.
Sighing you cross your arms, "I know we promised not to speak bout it. But Daryl--"
"Then why the hell ye bringin it up?" He snaps, still not fully lifting his head.
"Because you deserve to know," You start, getting fed up with him dodging this. "that I'm pregnant."
Those words are what makes Daryl lift his head, his deep blue eyes meeting yours. He stares at you for a while, his mind trying to process it all. Blinking a couple times he moves to walk off.
Biting you bottom lip you try to hold back any tears and all the rage you feel right now, being left in a hallway after telling the man that impreganted you that you're pregnant.
Walking in the direction he left, you find Daryl sitting on the edge of his bed in the small room.
"You sayin I knocked ye up?" His voice sounds different, calmer maybe even a little nervous.
You nod, leaning against the doorframe. "That's what I'm sayin."
Daryl runs his hands over his face, taking deep breaths. Not noticing when you walk over, until the dip of the bed makes him look at you.
"I'm sor--"
Daryl shakes his head as the words slowly leave your mouth. "Not your fault. And I ain't angry."
His words surprise you, and the soft kiss placed on your lips by him himself surprises you more.
Pulling back, you can still feel the tingle on your lips.
Resting your head on his shoulder you can hear the beating of his heart as the room grows silent. "We're gonna be parents."
Unable to contain the smile you look up at Daryl, seeing how he has one too.
