Sitting against the window as Daryl sits on the edge of the bed, you look out at the dark sky. The star less, blank sky.
You were the one to go with Daryl to rescue Beth, as soon as he saw that car drive away with the white cross on the back window.
"Can I ask you something?" You feel your words almost echo in the room.
A million thoughts were floating through your mind, about him, and about your relationship with him.
"Hm?" He hums as a simple answer, overly tired.
"You told me after the prison fell, that you were going to try harder. With me," You begin as his eyes drift slowly to lock with yours. "why do I feel like you aren't?"
You aren't trying to make him feel bad, he's there for everyone in the group. But in a relationship stand point, he's been distant. More than usual.
He looks down at his hands, "I'm tryin."
Looking back at you, you see it in his eyes. Truth.
"I'm here for ye," Daryl assures you. "even if I ain't doin a good job showin it. I'm here, and I love ye."
It wasn't often that Daryl said things like that, but when he did you just get a new reason to be in love with him.
