Knowing Daryl Dixon your whole life, it wasn't until the world began to fall apart that you began to see a side of him that was real. Each tragedy bringing a new rawness to his being.
Losing his brother allowed you to be able to see that he did hold heavy emotions deep down, even if he had to lose someone to bring that side of him out.
Sitting against the window, looking out at the destroyed city of Atlanta, Daryl stands beside you. The silence comfortable between the two of you.
"You said I ain't like how I was before." Daryl speaks up, recalling something you had whispered to him the day before. Something that had stuck with him.
"No you're not," You begin, thinking to the old Daryl you knew. "you're better."
