Waiting in the overly nice house, as the others clean up, you and Daryl look around quietly.
"You ever think about it?" You speak up, making Daryl lift his head in your direction. "Settling down?"
This morning you had heard about Michonne and Rick. Ever since, the topic had been on your mind.
Daryl turns his body, walking towards you. "You askin jus ta ask? Or ya askin me?"
You and Daryl had been together since the farm, so the thought had crossed your mind a few times. What the future looked like for you both... Together.
You shrug, looking out the window. Feeling him stand behind you. "Just a question."
He grunts, and without looking you can tell he wears a small smirk. That was something about Daryl, he always knew when you were lying.
"Ain't ever really thought bout it," His hands shove into his dust and blood covered pants. "before you anyway."
That made your head raise, your eyes locking with his. A warm smile growing on your lips.
Daryl didn't have to map out the future for you two, he didn't need to say all that you're to do together one day. There were moments like this that just caused you to know.
