The house was dark except for the lit candles that lined the floor.
You waited, sitting on a piano bench as Daryl searched the upstairs and other rooms you'd yet to go through. Making sure everything was safe enough for the night.
Daryl joined you back in the main room, placing his crossbow he was carrying on the ground. Climbing into the black coffin. That had a white sheet lining and fluffy pillows.
"You're really going to sleep in there?" You ask, thinking it's strange that a coffin would be a good place to rest.
"Comfiest bed I've had in years," Daryl tells you. "C'mere."
Walking over you lay beside him, the space right. Yet the closeness doesn't bother you, in fact it makes you feel safer.
Sleep soon came to you, as the shine of the candles flame reflected on the wall. And the blue of his eyes was like the ocean, a body that calmed you.
A/N: Not sure yet about this one, but I thought I'd do another update for this book!
