"Daryl," You call walking out onto the porch of the house you share with him in Alexandria. "come help me make cookies."
It was winter, almost Christmas time. Daryl had already shared he didn't care much for the holidays but you made sure that he was involved in some ways.
From putting the star at the top of the tree to playing Christmas records while he was in the house.
He looks at you, cleaning his crossbow...once again. Then lets out a laugh, as if what you said was absolute ludicrous.
"I'm good here." He's sitting there contently, even with the snow falling around him. Freezing him to the bone.
"Daryl." Placing a hand on your hip you give him a look, the look he knows nothing good comes from if he ignores it.
Giving up he comes indoors, following you to the kitchen where the counters are covered in flour, dough and pans.
"What do I got to do?" He asks after taking his boots off by the door.
"You," Moving over you gran some shapes. "can start cutting these."
"I ain't cuttin out a tree cookie." He says looking at the plastic as some unknown object.
"Daryl come on, it's fun! It's the holiday spirit, and hey," You say. "you'll have to start doing things like this once the little one gets here."
Seven months along, and expecting a baby boy. Sighing, Daryl knows you're right.
"Fine." Mumbling he moves next to you, beginning to cut the dough into different shapes.
"See," You smile after a while. "Isn't it fun??"
