Waking up to screams was something you hadn't experienced in months. The prison had been a safe place, for quite a while now.
But waking up to hear screams and not seeing your son sleeping in between you and Daryl scared you.
The screams woke him up too, alert grabbing his crossbow.
You at first thought your son was off with the other kids like he was sometimes in the morning, but the next noise you knew as your six year old's scream.
Daryl ran out of the cell, seeing the boy with a head full of dark curls and bright blue eyes screaming as a walker trudged towards him.
He runs faster, scooping the boy up into his arms. Shooting the walker dead, and holds the boy closer to his chest.
"It's okay buddy," He whispers to him, trying to calm his breathing. "I got 'cha. Daddy's gotcha."
Your boy clings to him, not letting go. Not much scared Daryl Dixon, but this was one of those times where it was certianly close to frightening him.
