Sitting out on the porch, as night circled in, you and Daryl were sharing things about your past lives. He knew most of where you came from and your past, but most of his was still a mystery.
"Ye want to know what I was before this?" He asks after awhile, thinking back to how everyone used to guess what he did for a living before the outbreak.
"I was nothing." His words are laced with vulnerability. Something he only shows around you.
"Nobody."
Reaching forward, you take his hand in your own. Squeezing it lightly.
"You are something." You tell him, his eyes locked on you.
"You're someone to me."
