Chapter 20 MKOL

"Kuya?" I called Garen who was now comfortably sitting while reading a neswpaper with a cup of coffee.

He glanced at me first before he put down the newspaper on the table.

"What is it that you want Gem?" He knew me so well. Alam niyang may kailangan ako sa kanya.

"How can you do that Gar?"

"Do what?" he looked confused and raised his eyebrow.

"Yung tipong alam mo agad kung may kailangan ako sayo." I chuckled and sat down in front of him.

He grinned. "My precious Gem. I'm your brother, we grew up together."

He really knows me. He knows when i need or want something, and he is willingly happy to give it to me no matter how much it costs.

"You have to tell it to me now whatever it is Gem, or else I will be late with my flight."

"Going somewhere?" I asked. How come he did not tell me.

"Yeah, I have a flight to France today. I will be gone for months, or maybe a year."

"What?? How come you haven't told me about you leaving for good?"

"We will see each other when you'll have your vacation there. Besides, they missed you too."

"You always leave me here alone. Actually, all of you!" I cried and stormed out of the dining.

"Gem! Wait!" He called me but I didn't bother to stop.

I went back to my room and locked it.

Simula pa lang noong bata pa ako. Lagi na lang wala ang parents namin ni Garen. They're always busy in our business. Halos wala na silang oras sa aming dalawa. Kaya, Garen and I are so close to each other. Unlike other siblings, we didn't hate each other, we didn't get jealous in anything, we have the same taste of everything. We are family, and we value it that much. Dahil siya lang ang tanging pamilya ko na sobrang malapit sa akin. He is a very caring brother. He pampered me in everything i want. He let me learned on my mistakes yet avoiding me from getting harm. He's the only family i have, and now he's going to leave. I felt like i have lost a great pillars of strength in my life.

I cried. I just can't help but felt lonely and angry at the same time.

"Gem, let's talk." He said behind the door of my room.

"Get lost! Don't talk to me!" I yelled and sat down on my bed.

Minutes later. I heard the sound of the door opened and here he is approaching me with those master keys on his fingers.

"I'm sorry. Hindi ko sinabi sayo dahil alam kong gagawin mo ang lahat para mapigilan ako. Dad need me there and.."

"And you have to forget Katarina right?" At tinapunan ko siya ng isang nagtatanong na tingin.

Nakita kong napatiimbagang ito dahil marahil sa pagbanggit ko sa pangalan ng babaeng iyon. He's still affected. I knew it. Mahal niya pa rin ang manlolokong 'yun.

Suddenly, i saw how pain slowly covering his gorgeous face.

Oh my poor brother!

"P-paano mo nalaman?" Puno ng pagtatakang tanong niya sa akin.

"You were murmuring her name everytime you got drunk."

He took a heavy sigh and just looked at me.

Nakikita ko pa rin mula sa mga mata niya ang sakit.

Then i realized he has to leave to mend his broken heart. He wanted this so much more than i wanted him to stay, so that he can finally move forward.
