Returning Beast

Chapter 1

The now seventeen year old, Orion Lucas walked down the staircase. A gloomy look on his handsome face as he walked. Dark circles were under his now dark colored eyes as he walked. Showing how deeply tired he was.

Orion hasn't slept for many days. Finishing late school reports and homework. As well as thinking of when Adriana would return. Or if she was ever going to return to him and his pack.

He enters the living room to find Paisley and Mack sleeping on the couch. Orion couldn't help but chuckle at the two. For the passed two years the two were a couple. He spotted Paisley and Mack's hands were locked together. It made Orion smile at his friends' love. But it soon faded as he remembered the love he and Adriana had before they argued.

The entire pack had healed from Caesar's death after four months of mourning. All would visit his buried grave they made themselves. They would visit and sometimes talk to his grave. As if he would respond in their minds.

Orion and his friends didnt heal from Adriana leaving. Neither did Bryanna. She said that the Adriana was like a daughter to her. Andrea wished that her sister-like friend was still there. Every one of them searched all over Arizona themselves. All failing when her scent was somehow perfectly disguised the night she left.

Orion walks into the kitchen to find his aunt Bryanna making lunch. She was busy chopping carrots to notice her nephew. A small, upset frown was on her face. (She was the only one who hasn't stopped mourning over Caesar.)

"Afternoon, Aunt Bryanna." Orion said as he snatches an un chopped carrot. His sentence nearly made her jump out of her skin. She turns around to look at Orion. A warm smile now on her face.

"Afternoon Orion, I'm glad you're out of your room. You've been in there for so long." Bryanna said relieved. Orion didn't feel like smiling toward her. Instead he just shrugged. "I know, I just decided to go out for a run." Orion said as he took a bite of the carrot.

Bryanna smiles at her nephew. "That's good." Orion smiles but it fades instantly. He finishes his carrot in three more bites. The growling in his stomach stopped. Relieving Orion of the annoying sounds.

"Orion, I know you're upset that Adriana left. But didn't she say to forget about her. Incase she doesn't come back." Bryanna said sadly. Not liking to say it herself. Orion looks up to his aunt. Seeing she looked like she was about to cry. "I know. But it's just I haven't felt this way about anyone. And Adriana just left, and when Uncle Caesar died. It made my heart shatter even worse once she had left."

He jumps off the chair he sat on. Not feeling like he wanted to talk anymore.

Then he turns around to walk out of the kitchen. Before he exited, his cousin Andrea and best friend Slade came in. Andrea looked up at her cousin and smiled. Slade smiled as well; his arm wrapped securely around Andrea's shoulders.

Andrea and Slade both started dating a year ago after finding out they had things a lot in common. At first Orion was creeped out. But after awhile he approved.

"Thank goodness you're out of your room. I was about to go and whack you till you agreed to go outside." Orion immediately paled of all colors once Andrea spoke the last sentence. Even Slade paled at his girlfriend's words.

"That's something to say to your favorite cousin." Orion said as he crosses his arms. He smirks as Andrea began to laugh.

Andrea rolls her eyes but then smiled. "Slade and I actually came to get you." she suddenly said. Orion became confused once she spoke. He quirked a dark red eyebrow at her and Slade. Wondering what she meant. "What does she mean?" Orion asked toward Slade. Wanting his friend to talk.

Slade nods and says,"We were hiking in the forest. Then we met someone we think you might wanna see." A smile came to his lips. Showing his sharp pointed teeth. Orion once again became confused. But also very curious.

"What do you mean?" Orion asked confused. Andrea ended up groaning in annoyance by all his questioning. "Oh my god just follow us!" she shouted irritated as she reached and grabbed Orion's wrist. Then she drags him into the living room.

Orion could hear Slade and Bryanna following after them. He saw that Paisley and Mack were now awake. And Bryan, Fawn, and Paul were there as well. All were smiling brightly.

"Whats going on?" Orion asked curiosity.

"Come on in!" Andrea shouted. Her voice sounded very excited as she had spoke.

Someone then walked inside the living room. A young female that looked about their age.

Her hair was raven black with long, red streaks. Her skin tone was pale but had some tan in it. She wore black, ripped jeans with a black tank top. Scars were all over her bare arms. A cap was hiding the rest of her hair.

"Hey." the girl spoke in a soft voice.

The girl grabs her baseball cap and takes it off. Her hair fell down straight to her rear end. She looks up and shows her face. A smile was on her pale lips. The color of her eyes were bright brown.

Orion's mouth dropped once he recognized her.

"Long time no see, Orion." said the now eighteen year old Adriana Coleman.
