Chapter 17

Adriana laid on the bed in Patrisha's room. Still completely shell shocked at what she had just heard. She fell back and looked up at the ceiling. Feeling everything swarm around her.

'My mother is friends with Reaver! Why didn't she tell me!?'

'I dunno!'

'She should've told me! She told me everything when I met her three years ago. Even when she had told me that she was related to Native Wolves!'

'Yeah and she isn't even a wolf!'

She looks back at Patrisha. "My mother never told me that she was friends with a Reaver." Adriana said. Patrisha gave her an upset look. "That's upsetting. We have been friends sense we were kids." Patrisha said. Once again shocking Adriana.

"I've been with Élan for over three years when I met her. She told me she was related to Native Wolves, basically the most powerful wolves in existence."

Patrisha reaches up and pats Adriana's head. As if she was a child. She then backed away to give Adriana space.

Quickly, Adriana stands up. Hurrying toward Patrisha. "Why is your husband trying to kill me! Especially my friends!" Adriana demanded angrily. Her shocked expression now completely angry. She glares at Patrisha. Daring her to speak with her eyes.

Patrisha just sighs and looks away.

"It happened over twenty or thirty years ago. The last few years flew by like a blur so I don't quite remember. Anyway~

We Reavers were battling a pack of wolves from a different state. Ario fought the alpha male while I fought the alpha female,"

Adriana began to picture the story as Patrisha told her the story.

"The alpha female slashed me across the face. The attack blinded me for that moment. All I could do was scream. Pain ran through my body like lightning. I couldn't manage to move.

My husband's screams entered my ears. Screaming my name in horror,"

Adriana felt like her heart cracked. Realizing how painful Patrisha's past was. Even Ario. Now understanding why angry Ario was.

"I fell to my knees and felt something odd going through my veins. It didn't feel natural. As if it was a virus running through my entire system. Never had I felt pain before, that felt so...odd.

Ario ran to me and tried to help me. The alpha female attacked him but Ario killed her. So. . .Ario became an enemy to every wolf around him."

Adriana stared utterly shocked at Patrisha's words. "Ario is angry of what happened in the past. Most people want to forget the past. Because it could affect the future." Adriana stated. She looks at Patrisha and saw her nod. "I know, I tried to tell him, but he didn't listen. I was too weak anyway."

Worry and pity poked at Adriana's heart. Not believing how this woman has been for so long. "Then why do you stay with him? When he just wants to cause destruction when you are so. . .sweet?"

Patrisha sighs and looks into space. As if she was trying to find the perfect words to say. "I want too, but I don't want to leave my son."

Adriana nearly looked disgusted at the last part. Her hatred for He-Lush-Ka boiling inside her. 'Damn, that was quick to anger you!' said Beast, amusement in her voice. 'DO I NEED TO MUZZLE YOU SOMEHOW!?' Adriana practically shouted at Beast inside her mind. Nearly shouting on the outside. Which made Beast laugh at her.

"Lush is out of control! He's trying to kill me! What about Slade! Don't you want to see him again!?" Adriana asked ecstatic. Staring at Patrisha and tried to find an answer. Hoping she would answer quickly. Patrisha showed pain in her eyes. Tears slowly fell down her eyes. Making Adriana feel guilty.

"Yes, defiantly." Patrisha then showed a bright smile. A smile that Adriana approved. It made her smile in return.

"Then let's go!"

Adriana hurries to the door with Patrisha in pursuit.
