Choosing the One

Chapter 18

Patrisha and Adriana hurries through the forest as quick as they could. Their footsteps silent as they ran. But the dead leafs bellow crunches when they hit them. Both wincing at the sounds. Hoping none have heard.

They ran as fast as their feet could carry themselves. Adriana held Patrisha's hand to make sure she would keep up with her. Her grip was nearly bone breaking.

"Once they find me gone they'll know I'm healed! Then they'll think you have kidnapped me!" Patrisha said between pants. Her voice was barely heard from the wind. Adriana tries to hear her voice when the wind was going the opposite direction.

Adriana looks at Patrisha and saw how beautiful her new friend looked while she ran, and wasn't in the dark. Her dark, ebony hair flew against the breeze. The stars' light made her skin light up like a candle' slight pressing against a person's skin.

Quickly looking away to look in front of her. "Don't care! We just need to get rid of our trail!" Adriana shouted over the wind that was blaring in her ears. Nearly making them pop. Then the idea popped into her head in an instant.

"GET ON MY BACK!" Adriana shouted as she jumps into the air. Shapeshifting into her wolf form once she landed. She stops running and waits for Patrisha. Turning to look at Patrisha. Seeing how shocked she looked.

'Get on now!' Adriana did her best to sound human.

A low grunt escaped her wolf lips when she feels weight on top of her. 'Damn what does this woman weigh!?' Adriana said in her mind as she takes off through the forest. Running her fastest to the pack.

Running as fast as her four large paws could carry her. Adriana grunts every time when Patrisha puts too much weight on her back.

Air rushed passed through her long fur. Making it feel like gravity. . .

Blood ran down Orion's lips as he hits the tree. Air escaping his lips once he feels the wind rush out of him. He groans as he struggled to stand back up. Glaring at Adolf as he slowly stood up.

The full moon shunned upon the two wolves. Making them stronger than they already were.

Growls escaped Orion's lips as he gains balance. "You are going to regret doing that!" Orion shouted as he gains speed. He flexes his long claws and jumps at Adolf. His eyes glowing incredibly bright.

Adolf easily dodges Orion's attack and grabs him by the throat. And smashed him against the ground.

"ADOLF! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ORION!!" screamed a terrified voice.

Both wolves looked up and found a terrified yet furious Adriana. Who was standing next to them with a Reaver. Known as Patrisha.

Adriana slowly crept toward them. Her eyes glowing bright gold. She slowly walks toward them. Frightening both boys.

"Adolf, why the hell have you beaten up Orion!?" Adriana ordered angrily. She shoots her hand toward Adolf. Grabbing him by the throat. Then lifting him off the ground. Adolf let out a gasp and thrashes all around. Completely startled at what is happening.

"Adriana, violence is never the answer!" shouted Patrisha. Adriana stops her assault and drops Adolf. She turns around to look at Patrisha. And then nods. "Sorry." Adriana said gruffly.

She turns back around and hurries toward Orion. Worry in her eyes. Adriana gets down on her knees and picked up Orion's head. She rests it on her lap and began to nurse him. Making sure he was alright. All the while he wore a smug smirk toward Adolf.

"Are you alright?" Adriana said to him. She checks a deep cut on his arm. Watching as how much blood was staining the ground. And as it stained her as well.

"Adriana, why is there a Reaver with you?" Orion asked as he allows her to nurse him. Beginning to feel much better by her touch. "She has switched sides. And she's Slade's mother." Adriana said as if it was no big deal. When Orion and Adolf's eyes widen.

The two stared at the new woman and saw her now standing near Adriana. A nervous smile on her face as she was stared at. "Hi, I'm Patrisha." she spoke with a small wave.

"Come on and try to stand up." Adriana suddenly said. She slowly stands up with Orion. Helping him up as best as she could.

"Adriana, I wanna ask you something." Orion said through coughs. He looks at Adriana and saw her staring at him. "Yes?" she asked. She gave him a smile to show that he could talk to her. "Who do you choose? Adolf or Me?"

Her eyes widened in shock. But then she looked at Adolf.

"I choose you, Orion."
