-Chapter Six-
I walked down the dirt path of an old park that I used to go down to every morning when I was around ten to thirteen years old. I honestly can't remember when the last time I came here was. But, all I know is not a thing has changed about it.
Like all the old times, the park wasn't exactly crowded with kids. It always only had one or two families in it and I liked it that way. I still remember exactly why I would come here almost all the time. In the beggining when I was around ten it was just to play but, as I grew older it became more of a place for me to think.
I looked around looking for the swing set I used to always hang around on until I spotted it beside a tall tree. Everything about the park was the same, except some of the things were a bit rusty.
I sat down on the swing and began to rock myself back and forth, oblivious to the fact that there was a little girl sitting on the swing next to mine.
"Hi." her voice spoke softly making me a jump a tad.
"Hello." I answered covering up my face with a forced smile.
"Why are you sad?" The girl asked.
"I'm not sad." I assured her, "Just rethinking some things."
"Like what?" The girl questioned.
"Life." I answered with a smile plastered on my face.
"Why would you rethink life?" The girl questioned once more, a confused expression replacing the smile that once rested on her little face.
"Sometimes things happen in a person's life, things that aren't always good and sometimes these bad things can get that person thinking about everything they have been through." I answered, "and I just happened to be that person."
"Oh." The girl's voice echoed through the park. "Bad things have happened to me too, but I dont rethink life."
"Oh really, like what?" I smiled.
"My mom died when I was really tiny, I dont really remember her which kind of sucks because I want to remember her. I don't want to be that person that lost someone they never even got to know, but I am and I think that sucks. Especially since that person I didn't get to know was the girl who gave me a life." The girl said.
"I'm sorry, I lost someone I didn't know either." I replied.
"Really? Who?" the girl asked.
"I never knew her, but it was a girl a little bit younger then me. I had to see her die." I spoke.
"I'm sorry, I hate that people have to die. It sucks a lot." The girl sighed.
"I know, I'm sorry about your mom." I spoke.
"Me too, I'm Lizzie." The girl said sticking out her hand.
I shook it gladly and gave her a smile, more natural this time. "I'm Fay."
"Doesn't that mean like fairy or something?" Lizzie laughed.
"Yup." I smiled, "i'm pretty sure it does, smart girl you are."
"Not really, I'm only twelve." Lizzie laughed, "almost everyone in seventh grade knows what Fay means."
"I didn't know you were twelve." I smiled, "I'm eighteen by the way."
"I guessed, and yeah I look a little younger then I actually am which kind of reallys sucks but hey, my step mom is always blabbering about how she wishes she looked younger so when I'm older this will be my advantage." Lizzie giggled.
"Ah, yes. It deffineatly will be, smart girl." I winked.
"Anyways, my dad is probably expecting me so I have to go. But, whatever your rethinking about your life, I hope it all goes well for you. My dad used to always tell me that when good people leave your life, more good people enter it and by more good people I guess he meant my step mom because believe it or not she actually isnt wicked." Lizzie giggled before waving goodbye to me and skipping away towards her small pink bike that was proped up against a street light.
I smiled and wished more people in the world were like Lizzie. Young but wise, that's the kind of people we need in this world.
That's the kind of person, I wish I was.
