Marco opened the perfectly sealed letter and smiled at the handwriting on the paper.

It's been a while, Marco.

I hate that we were separated. I wish you were in the military police with me... It's not the same without you. It's soooooooo boring. I hope you're having fun ;). Maybe we can sneak out at night sometime and meet up? I'll probably get caught and yelled at by Commander Nile, but I honestly don't care at this point. Annie's been all over the place recently and it's pissing me off. Anyways, I hope everything's been okay with you and you've met people you like. Hopefully I'll see you soon.

The boy smiled happy to know that you were safe. He knew you two weren't going to be seeing each other for a while since they had just announced there was a breach in the wall and he knew he had to fight, but he wanted to try anything to see you again.

I miss you so much. It's not the same without you here. I met a group of people though: Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Connie, Sasha, and this pretty cute guy named Jean. I don't think I like him though, I've got my eyes on someone else. I'm glad your safe. The thing with Annie sounds like it sucks. Have you been having to take her positions or is she just running around from position to position?

You smiled and put the letter in a box you kept of all the letters you received from Marco. You pulled out a sheet of paper and pen and began to write again.

Marco,

Ooooooo and who might the person be that you have your eyes on?? Tell me all details. Height, eye color, hair color, lip shape, foot size, everything!!! o.o I swear I'm not that creepy. Annie's just.... Well I'm not really sure exactly what she's doing, it just seems like she's always in a hurry and it's like she's hiding something... I'll try to find out what's going on with her, but I need to think of how without being caught because it's like this chick has eyes everywhere. Be careful.

Marco blushed, reading the beginning of the letter. Had you never caught on? Everyone said it was completely obvious that Marco had a thing for you during training. Well with what's been happening with the titans, it was now or never for Marco to finally admit his feelings. Besides, it was over letter so how hard could it possibly be? Marco felt bad for not confessing in person, but he didn't know how and even if he did, he didn't know when he would do it. He has barely had any time to write these letters let alone sleep. He took a paper and pen out and decided confessing right away would be the best thing to do.

Haha well funny story. You see the girl I've had my eyes on was with me in training, but didn't get placed in my 'section' so I don't get to see her anymore. I have been talking to her for some time now and the feelings haven't disappeared. She's Y/H feet with Long/Short/Medium H/C and she's the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on. I think you can guess the girl now ;).

You sat there staring at the letter. It's you. He was describing you. You smiled the biggest smile to the point where your mouth was sore. 'This is the best day ever'. You quickly began to write back.

I had no idea! I'm guessing it's me you're describing? I like you too. Gosh, this is the best day ever. Now I really want to meet u- Commander Nile just came into my room and told me to get ready and be on full watch. I hope you guys are okay. I'll try to get this letter out as soon as possible before anything bad happens to the point where we'll lose all contact, I'm really hoping you'll see this. I like you :)

A titan breached the wall. Tons of titans ran through the hole. Wall Maria had been breached once again.

It was after the "war" and Jean walked around to get to where the dead bodies were laid out. He had already seen corpses lying around on the ground and tried hard to get the pictures of the ones he once knew out of his head. Jean hung his head down low and slowly walked over to the corpses until he stopped in front of a semi dirty letter with small blood splatters and a footprint. He bent down seeing, 'Y/F/N Military Brigade' written in cursive across the middle. He shakily opened the letter knowing it was Marco who wrote the letter.

I know this letter most definitely won't get to you and I'm writing this as fast as I can so pardon my handwriting. You need to stay alive, get to safety, anything.  I don't know what I'd do if you were gone. Don't try looking for me or anyone. Now is the time where it's kill or be killed and I'd hope if you were the one not being killed. I promise you I will stay alive and we will soon be able to see each other. Everyone is starting to leave the building with their gear on so I'll have to follow soon after. Just please promise to stay safe.

A single tear rolled down Jean's cheek. Out of all the dead corpses he had walked past, Y/N's was the one that stuck out the most. He wiped the stray tear away and crumbled the paper, throwing it as far away as he could out of frustration. "I'm sorry Marco," he whispered and began walking once again.
