"GET YOUR ASS HOME RIGHT THIS INSTANT!"

My feet run so fast into the house, through the house, searching the house. Yelling for my brother.
'FLOYD!' I yell on repeat. Did something happen to him? Did they find us?
'Calm down Mali,' I hear as footsteps come down the stairs. I throw myself onto my brother.
'Dammit Floyd, you scared me.' I know he's smiling, but we also both know this isn't something to joke around about. Finally, I let go of him.
'We have a situation in the bathroom,' he tells me. I raise an eyebrow.
'Did you spontaneously get your period?' I ask him. A small smile plays on his lips.
'No, not really. It does have to do with blood.'
'So?'
'While you were gone, this guy knocked on our door and he was beat up. He is one of us, so I brought him inside to the bathroom to clean him up, but he passed out.' I am already walking up the stairs.
'Did he tell you anything?' Floyd shakes his head. 'Fuck, this could be bad.' My body hesitates before opening the bathroom door. In the bathtub is a man in his twenties. He has a bad cut on his cheek and Floyd patched up his arm. If he fainted from blood loss, there is nothing we can do. He'll have to go to a hospital and they'll probably kill him there.
I kneel next to the tub and carefully pat his cheek until one of his hands grabs my wrist. His eyes slowly open.
'Am I dead?' he asks. He sees my confused look and leans back in the tub. 'You look like an angel.'
'Thank you for the compliment, but you are not dead,' I tell him with a soft voice. 'What's your name?' He lets out a chuckle, but you can see that it hurts for him to do so.
'As if I would just tell anyone.'
'Where are you from?' His hand is still wrapped around my wrist.
'Not going to tell you either.'
'Okay, then you can just die on the street,' I tell him and start to stand up, but since he still has my wrist, he pulls me back down.
'I'm sorry. I just wanted to try you. I know you're only trying to help and I know that it'll probably kill you if people find out. I'm Kai. I'm from Seoul.' I let out a big sigh.
'What is it with this town and people from Seoul? First that Baekhyun guy, then that Sehun dude and now you,' I whisper under my breath. His eyes widen.
'You met Baekhyun and Sehun?' I nod. 'Shit, I know them. Can you find them again?' I shake my head.
'Aniyo, I met them in places you don't stay at for long,' I tell him. His hope seems to slip through his fingers. 'Just stay here. I'll prepare a bed for you. Don't expect to stay long though.' He nods understandingly. If he is one of us, like me and Floyd, he can't stay here for long. Floyd and me being together is already too much, but a third, that's suicide.
Ironic that I say that while my brother and I have been looking for a group of our kind who travels through the country together. They are so strong that the army doesn't want to capture them.

My hands run through my sliver hair as my light brown eyes stare at my brother. I am frustrated. Very, very frustrated.
'You shouldn't have let him in.'
'You would've done the same thing.'
'I know.' Tear sting behind my eyes. 'I'm just scared.' Before he can grab me and tell me it's alright, I walk upstairs. Only to be confronted by the problem even more. Kai is standing on the hallway. He still looks a bit too pale to be walking around.
'What are you doing out of bed?' I ask him.
'Just getting some water,' he says. I nod and try to pass him, but he grabs my shoulders. His deep brown eyes stare deeply into mine. 'Are you sure you're okay?'
'No,' I say with a chuckle, 'but that's not your problem.'
'Not crying is only going to make it worse.'
'I am not crying.' My tears are making it hard to sound like I'm not lying.
'Your brother is there for you, I am here for you.'
'Why are you doing this?' Tears are streaming over my cheeks by now. He pulls me into a hug. He is taller than Floyd and he feels warmer. I don't know why, but it feels so much more comfortable to hug him than Floyd.
'That feels better, doesn't it?'
'Yeah.' Carefully he lets go of me.
'Will you be okay?' I nod. 'Good. Because I'll be leaving in the morning.'
'Like hell you are. You look horrible.'
'That's kind of insulting,' he says with a sly smirk on his face. How did he change so fast?
'Okay, if you want to commit suicide, be my guest,' I tell him and go into my room, locking the door behind me. What the hell is happening?

My eyes follow Kai as he is getting further and further away from the house until he disappears into the morning sun. I've been up for quite some time now, but it's only now that I hear Floyd's footsteps come down the stairs. He lets out a big yawn and sits down next to me on the couch.
'Kai left?' I nod. 'How are you feeling?'
'Conflicted.'
'It was strange, but I think you needed it. To talk to a stranger instead of me.'
'Maybe I did, but I think he wasn't here for nothing.'
'What do you mean?'
'Since we came back to Busan, I started meeting all these people who came from Seoul.'
'They could be on vacation to the sea,' Floyd suggest, but you can hear from the way he says it that he doesn't really believe it.
'I don't think so. It's almost autumn.'
'So what do you suggest?' he asks as he leans back into the couch.
'Something happened in Seoul and I don't think it'll be beneficial for us.'
