'Lay, where is Mali?' Floyd asks for the third time in complete and utter stress. Lay can't get any words out of his mouth because of his heavy panting. He has been running, sprinting, longer than his stamina can hold. D.O., Sehun and Xiumin run outside. They're the only ones who saw Lay come back to the house at top speed.
'Give the man some space Floyd!' Xiumin yells at Floyd, pulling him off Lay.
'She - We - Followed us - Kris and Tao,' he stutters in between his heavy breaths. When his words are spoken, there's a ray of lightning striking down on Busan.
'She is fighting back,' Floyd says. He runs to his motorcycle and speeds off.
Why did I think I could win this fight? Why did I think I could save Lay? My body is on the ground like a rag doll and they're just playing with it. Throwing me around like I'm a toy instead of a human.
'Enough,' Kris tells Tao with a demanding voice.
'I was just having fun. She can take it,' Tao says. I dig my fingers into my closed hands, standing up as I do so.
'Aish, she still hasn't had enough,' Tao says when he sees me stand. I push my hands in front of me, summoning a freezing cold squall that slices into their faces. They are frozen in place. They won't be able to move for a little while. This is my change to escape and I do.
I run. I run as fast as my hurt body allows me to. I run as fast as I possibly can, but it's not fast enough. I can already hear their footsteps catch up to me. With a jump and another squall to push me up, I get onto a building. Unluckily for me, Kris can fly.
'I can't find her anywhere,' Floyd cries through the phone. After Floyd left to find Mali, everyone paired up and went looking for her in different places so that they could find her as fast as possible.
'Are you sure?' Xiumin asks him, now getting quite worried too.
'Yes I am sure. Do you think I'm stupid?' Floyd yells at the older guy who is only trying to help. The boys have been all over time for an hour or so, but the tension seems to rise every second. Escpecially for Floyd. Quite logical actually when you realize he's her brother. Lay on the other hand has been quite calm. Sehun, who teamed up with Lay to find Mali, has started to get annoyed because of it.
'Why are you so damn calm? Your girlfriend is missing. She might be badly hurt,' he says when he finally runs out of patience.
'She promised to come home and I know she'll keep her promise,' he tells Sehun while tears stream down his cheeks out of the blue.
'Are you okay Lay?' He shakes his head.
'No, no, I'm not okay at all.'
'Stop running!' Tao yells out in frustration when I sprint away again.
'Do you honestly think she's going to listen to that?' Kris yells at him angrily, 'Just chase her you moron!'
My body is heavy, but I keep running and running for the fifth time and this time it seems like my saving is closer than expected. In the distance I see some people who are awfully familiar to me.
'Xiumin! D.O.!' I yell out. The two turn their heads and see the horror that is coming for them. Like a tsunami heading their way on a clear summers day. D.O. immediately creates a big stone wall in front of the two chasing me while Xiumin freezes them to the floor. Xiumin taps his watch, making the holoscreen pop up and he calls the group.
'We have Mali! Everyone, go home now!' he says and closes the screen as quickly as he opened it. We start running and don't stop until we get to the house.
'Mali!' Lay yells out in pure relief and embraces me in a tight hug. He seems so happy. When he lets go of me, he takes my face in his hands and pecks my lips, 'I knew you would keep your promise.'
'Thank you for trusting me,' I say as I look up to him.
'You've given me no reason not to trust you,' he tells me with a smile.
'I love you,' I tell him and stand on my tiptoes to give him a sweet kiss. We hear a cough when it takes longer than just a few seconds.
'You're both real cute and everything, but could you not,' Floyd says, 'Plus, we still need to patch Mali up.'
'I'll do it,' Luhan says. The group nods, but Floyd seems skeptical.
'Why should I let you do it?' he asks.
'He and I were basically the nurses of our group back in Seoul,' Xiumin says to back Luhan up.
'So why won't you do it?' he asks Xiumin. Xiumin chuckles.
'Together?' he suggest to Luhan. Luhan nods and the three of us leave the enormous living room to go to their enormous bathroom. They clean me up for a bit, and I decide to do some small talk while my cuts are being cleaned.
'So is your name really Xiumin?' I ask him. A chuckle escapes his mouth.
'No, it's just a nickname. Is your real name Mali?' I shake my head.
'My name is JiHye,' I tell him. Their eyes get a bit wider when I tell them my real name.
'You trust us that much?' Luhan asks me.
'You guys went looking for me. I could've died. Of course I trust you,' I explain to them. Xiumin smiles and nods at me before patching up a deep cut on my leg. They put a small tub with water on the ground to make it easier to clean the cuts, but the water has slowly started to turn red.
'Kim Minseok,' he says. Luhan smiles at Minseok while he wets his towel again, starting to work on the next cut.
'That's a beautiful name,' I tell him. A big smile appears on his face.
'My name is actually Luhan, but I told you before I had nothing to lose, so well,' Luhan tells me.
'Don't be such a downer Luhan,' I say to tease him. He chuckles and throws some water on me. Light red spots on my white t-shirt. They match the dark red spots.
'Don't be such a beach bunny,' he says, carefully hiding curse words.
'Aish, that hurts deer,' I tell him, grasping my chest, pretending to be hurt. We all laugh a little and chat for a while after that.
'I was so scared.'
'Me too.'
Lay and I lie in my bed. His arms are around me, carefully holding me close, afraid I might slip away. Afraid he might hurt me because of all the cuts and bruises on my body.
'Sehun asked me why I wasn't stressing out when we were looking for you,' he says.
'Oh, and why weren't you?' I ask him with a tired voice.
'Because you promised to come back, but when I told him that, I realized how scared I was that you wouldn't come back. That I couldn't trust you anymore because you broke your promise,' he tells me with vibrations in his voice.
'I'm sorry I scared you,' I tell him with sincerity in my voice.
'I'm actually happy I was scared. It made me realize how much I care about you.'
