HAPPY DECEMBER!!! 🎅🐧🌨❄☃🎄🎉🎊⛇🎁⛸

Barry's pov

"This is too easy," I decide, staring at the pictures. The name of an old factory was printing across a building in one. In another, the man who had written the sign was standing in front of the building.

"We could've caught a lucky break," Jasper says, his voice was full of hope. But his eyes showed disbelief and suspicion.

"This has trap written all of over it," a Cassidy agrees, blowing a piece of her pink hair out of her face. I run a hand through my dark brown hair, frustrated.

"We could always call Kyla and see if she can help up," Carter suggests, his cheeks turning red. Piper's eyes widen as she realizes what's going on.

"You have a crush on her!" She yells, making Carter wince.

"Are you just now realizing this?" Jasper laughs, making Carter's cheeks turn redder.

"Shut up. Back to the problem at hand, what are we going to do? This has trap written all over it. Do we take the bait or try to find something else?" Pipes questions.

"As much as I hate myself for saying this, I think we need to take the bait. This could be our only chance to find Violet. We need to do this," Cassidy says, staring out the window at the city lights.

"I agree," I say, "we need to find Violet before something happens to her."

"Either of you object? Speak now or forever hold your peace," Jasper tells us. Piper and Carter sit there quietly. And just like that, we all agreed to walk right into the belly of the beast.

"New York hasn't really changed since I came with my dad," Cassidy says quietly, resting her arms on the balcony railing.

"I guess there's not really much they can do to change the outward appearance. I'm sure that the people, shops, and some other things have changed," I reply, standing next to her. Cassidy laughs a little, making me smile wider.

"Remember how I was so nervous and unsure to come on this crazy cross-country trip?" She questions. I nod, remembering how she wanted to talk me out of the idea.

"I'm glad that I did. I don't kno why. I just feel a lot more confident. Like, hey! I can travel across the country with four of my best friends without parents. It's scary, but at the same time, it's giving us a taste of what being adults will be like," Cass continues, her eyes lighting up.

"Except for with adulthood, I don't think we'll be grounded whenever we go back home," I joke. Cassidy and I exchange a look then burst into giggles.

"Speaking of parents. You're wrong Barry, when you say that your parents don't like you or they're always mad at you. They really do love you. Your mum and dad both look at you and Violet with such pride," she informs me. My cheeks turn red.

"You're dad loves you too," I blurt, not sure how to respond.

Cassidy smiles, "I know he does. I just hope that he remembers how much he loves me when he gets home and decides on what my punishment is for running away." I laugh again, happy to be spending time with my best friend.
