All of us stood in Damien's office, and Alina and Jace were bouncing on the heels of their feet. I, on the other hand, was utterly embarrassed and wanted to crawl under Damien's sheets and never pop my head back out.

"Please tell us!" Alina begged, and I rolled my eyes while Damien and Jace exchanged looks.

"Alina." I groaned while slapping my hand over my face. I really wish they would stop pestering and looking at us like this. Alina had this grin spread over his face, and Jace had that all-knowing-smirk on his.

"They definitely had sex," Jace replies

"No, we didn't." Damien shot back while motioning for the servants to bring both of our bags in the room.

"It was just a kiss," I reply as I feel the heat return to my cheeks.

"But there are more pressing matters to discuss, aside from me and Addeline sharing a moment." Damien chimes in

"Uh no, it isn't." Alina smiles while twirling back and forth. She won't ever let this go. Might as well just tell her.

"Ugh, if I tell you will you let it go?" They both nod vigorously.

"Ok, well we just kissed. Well...I kissed him."

"Oooo Addeline for the win." Jace chats and I smile while rolling my eyes.

"Who put who on whose lap?"

"I put her on my lap," Damien adds. Alina squeals. It was like our love life was their personal entertainment.

"Now can we please talk about something else," I comment while plopping on his bed.

"Fine, what matters are more pressing than that juicy stuff." Alina smiles as she leans over the couch.

"Jace, you were right about King Alexander. We shouldn't have trusted him." This wiped the smile off of both of their faces.

"What happened?" Jace asks. Damien and I both told them how we were deceived into coming over and how they both had separate agendas towards the two of us. We also included Daines alleged involvement. Jace looked furious,

"I knew King Alexander was a snake. We should've gone with you."

"Then who would watch the castle?" I ask, and he shakes his head.

"That's not even all the news."

"God, more bad news?" Alina frowned.

"I found out what cursed bloodline I'm from. The Quintessa line."

"Quintessa," Alina replied worriedly. This is the first time that someone looked worried about the mere mention of my cursed blood. I looked between her and Jace, and they both had that look. Is there something I'm missing?

"Is that a bad thing?"

"Well...she was kind of-"

"The worst of the worse." Jace finished.

"What does that mean?"

"She was just...a little evil. But that doesn't mean you'll be evil. Your cursed blood is just a little dark. That's all." Oh, that's all? Just a little darkness in you but that's nothing. Is she insane? No wonder Daine wants me to bare him, cursed sons. Because if Quintessa is indeed the darkest of the children, she was more than likely the most powerful.

"Did you both meet her or something?"

"No, we're not that old." Damien laughs

"Our grandparents told us about them."
