I haven't remembered the last time I just sat in the garden doodling near the fountain. But I was in so much bliss and peace that I could just sit by the fountain and draw absentmindedly. I was drawing a flower as Damien sat at a table going through town documents. We had managed to fix the town up together and most of the crime ended without a problem. However, some criminals had to be killed because they refused to change. Alina was about to burst soon and she couldn't be any more thrilled. I was only four months along but my stomach was forming its round shape. The medic said I was a bit bigger than a normal pregnant belly would look. But he says it's nothing to worry about.
I shaded around the small lilies and sighed in content. I heard shuffling and then an arm wrapped around me. I looked to my left and spotted Damien looking at me with a smile on his face. He placed a hand on my stomach and rubbed it,
"It's a shame what's going to happen to them," he replied and I stopped drawing for a moment.
"Them?"
"Your babies,"
"Our baby...right?"
"Such a shame," Damien replied with a shake of his head
"What are you talking about?"
"When I rip their mother apart, we already know what will happen to them." A chilling voice replied. I already knew whose voice it was. I turned around hastily to see it was Daine rubbing my stomach and not Damien. I yanked away from him,
"You stay away from me," I shout. He only laughed as I held my stomach defensively
"Addeline." I shook my head back and forth
"Adeline."
"Addeline!" Someone shouts and I look around frantically. I'm sitting with my back against the fountain and my book was leaning off my lap. Damien was the one who had shouted at me. He was by my side rubbing my arms,
"Are you alright?"
"What happened?" I whispered
"You fell asleep when you were drawing. I didn't want to disturb you but then you starting screaming so I woke you up. Were you having a nightmare?" Damien questions
"I...I guess so." It felt too real. I thought someone was right next to me and it felt like someone was rubbing my stomach. Perhaps I was having another vivid dream about Daine. I haven't had one in months so he's probably just taunting me. What an asshole. Damien helped me to my feet and we walked hand and hand out the garden.
"I think Daine might be taunting me in my dreams again." Damien rolls his eyes
"All he ever sends is empty threats. I promise I won't let anything happen to the two of you." he promises as he rubs my stomach affectionately. I give him an unconvincing smile,
"Ok."
"Don't worry," he assures as he kisses my forehead.
-
"Isn't it odd that you and I are both pregnant at the same time?" Alina questions as we sit by the courtyard. I take a sip of my water and look out towards the sun. For some reason, something felt off. I've been having these odd moments every since that dream I had in the garden. I haven't told anyone about it because I didn't want to worry anyone. But today just seems off,
"Addeline."
"Hmm?" I reply snapping back to reality.
"Did you hear anything that I said?" Alina asks
"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention."
"I see," she replies concerned
"Is everything alright?"
