Alvaro's POV.

I hear people shouting Layler's name which wakes me up.
I stand up properly and I realize that Layler isn't in her bed anymore. I don't waste time I head out of the room and I follow the voices and I am led to room b34.

I should have known that she wouldn't resist coming to this room, if she hasn't killed her aunt Quela then I do not know.

The door is wide open and the doctor rushes right out of the room with the nurses and Emeka as well. I get inside the room and I see a body covered with a white cloth, obviously it is not Layler's body, after all why would she come all the way here to die?

I hear some commotion going on outside and I rush to the broken window. We are on the second floor and when I look down, I see Layler's body being picked up and then put on the hospital bed and being rushed right back into the hospital. What the hell happened in here?

I rush out and I look for Emeka and I spot him by the entrance.
"What happened!?"

"Sir, Madam Layler"

"Yes talk!"

"She went to see sister Quela in her room...when she got there they told her that Sister Quela has just passed away"

"Yeah, yeah, and?"

"Uhmmm she looked rather confused then she started crying and without any warning she just jumped out of the window"
She did what now!?

"Where are they taking her?"

"To the ICU uhmmm the doctor said we must wait here for him" He says and I take a seat on the couch in the reception and we wait for the doctor.

Layler is really on thin ice, the minute she wakes up I am transferring her to a hospital in America, clearly she cannot think straight when she is here. I know that she isn't in the right state of mind but suicide? No man!

I end up standing up and pacing back and forth, part of me feels like she isn't going to make it, she fell from the second floor and she already she has a gun wound, things do not really seem to be looking out for her.

After pacing back and forth for three hours or so the doctor finally comes to see us.
"Doctor how is she?"

"Thank God she seems conscious, although the fall affected her badly...she had a few cuts on her face, she broke her knee during the fall, we have taken her for X-rays then we will see how badly is her knee injured... her head hit the ground pretty hard, it was bleeding but we have managed to control the bleeding, by the looks of it she has to stay here for at least a month or two, and we have suggested that she gets counselling as well...and above all she suffered a mere heart attack"

"Thank you doc, so can I see her?"

"She is asleep right now, go home sir, it has been a rough night...tomorrow morning you can come back" And with that he leaves me there with Okafo, Emeka and Jessica. I tell all three of them to go home and that I will be spending the night here, after they leave I head to Layler's room.
I get inside, close the door and then I stand beside her.

Her eyes are slightly shut. Her forehead is covered with some white cloth, I assume it is the bandage, below her eyes there is a bandage and also just below her chin.
Her left knee is covered with a cast, this shit feels permanent.

She looks sad, lifeless and pale. Layler is like a sister to me. I've known her since kindergarten, back in kindergarten I was of course the guy who bullied her and she was too kind back then to even react to my bully ass.

When we were in our freshmen years, my parents bought a house across from her house, then that is when we started hanging out, secretly of course, I didn't want my friends to know that I hung out with a nerd.
Then we went to high school together and my friends liked her and her rude ass friend Maxine, then they later became part of my crew.

All those years I've known her she was nothing but joyful, a sweetheart indeed, till her parents passed away and drove her into a life of crime, me, Bauti and Fermin, had already established that life, for the fun of it and we taught her a thing or two, then she became all about her paper and her family then she turned cold.
The girl that I am looking at right now is the very same girl that I used to bully in kindergarten.

She doesn't need counselling, she just needs things to go her way, she is not suicidal, she just needs an escape, she isn't vicious or cold, we just do not understand her...she is not heartless, she just knows how to use her heart less.

I know she is messed up because she lost her child, but part of me is relieved also at the fact that Bauti also lost his son.
Do not get me wrong, I adored Andy...but on the bright side...there will be no more Jerry or Jane to stand in the way of these two.

I am not going to take her for counselling, fuck that shit, I am taking her ass back to America...her and Bauti need each other, if they both see each other then they will fall back together, rather than falling apart separately.
