Caleb's POV.

Staying the night at Layler's house makes me feel quite safe from her wrath, I made matters worse by threatening to kill her but I know if she is around her family she won't try any business.

After having dinner, her grandmother who insists I call her "nena" showed us our rooms.

My uncle and nena seem to get along just fine. I've been sensing weird vibes between Jerry and Layler, although I brushed it off, he is engaged to her cousin so there isn't much to worry about.

I lay in bed with my girlfriend Letty, she is really tired, she had a long morning and I have been busy spying on Layler, her movements will show me my future predicament.
I turn off the bedside lamp and I go to sleep.

I hear thunder outside and I assume that It is raining, it hardly rains this side but hey. Lightening flashes and I see its light and I notice a shadow.
It is a human shadow that looks like it is directly staring at me. I close my eyes and I open again and to my surprise the figure is still there.
I start to panic and I turn on the bedside lamp and Letty wakes up.

"What is wrong?" She asks while rubbing her eyes.
I look at Layler standing there wearing a black gown, looking down at me.

"What do you want?" I ask as I shift further to Letty's side.

"Oh pardon me my dearest cousin, I wanted to see if you are well settled in" She says as if standing in the dark and looking over someone is totally normal.

"You look at people in the dark?" Letty asks with a confused expression.

"You would be surprised as to what carrots can do for your eyes" She says as she takes out a carrot out of nowhere and then she places it next to the lamp.

"We do not want your carrots" I hiss.

"Are you sure? Try one, who knows, this carrot might help your eyes foresee danger...death...the future maybe" She says as she walks to the door.

"What danger?" Letty asks.
Layler takes out a dead rat out of nowhere, the rat has its head, legs and tail cut off...I am shocked that I can still identify it as a rat.

"This rat never ate carrots, now it is no more, do not be like the rat" She says and walks out, the minute she walks out the light on the bedside lamp automatically switches itself off.

"Your relatives spook much?" Letty asks.

"Just go back to sleep" I say then she reaches for the carrot and I give her a confused look.

"Hey! I do not want to be unfortunate like the rat"
Okay it seems to me that I was wrong, even in this house it is not safe...I have got to find a way to deal with Layler.
