Jerry's POV.

It is Sunday afternoon, it has been a week now since the whole episode by the hood with Layler took place and she hasn't even tried to contact me.
Ever since that day she is all that I think about.

The way she frowns at the world but hides the brightest smile, I realized that she is a great person when I saw how she was when she was around her brother.

The love she has for her brother is remarkable and she is really a great support system.

She wears that whole "all work and no play" face because she is the one to get the work done since she knows no-one who could ever do it for her.
She carries herself so sophisticatedly that her walk alone can intimidate you. She hides the sleek free soul girl behind the curtains of reality.

I've noticed that she hasn't really had a childhood or a proper circle of friends since her parents died she has had one friend and that is Alvaro and her bestie Bautista, I would like to believe they are just besties.

I sent the car to her house Saturday afternoon, I know she got the note she just didn't see the need to thank me. I would not be shocked if she actually burnt it down, her sleek demeanour would have drove her to that point.

"Uncle Frank said he will meet us next Saturday afternoon he has something to tell us" My brother Caleb enters the TV room and he practically throws himself onto the couch.

I ignore him completely as I recreate the images of Layler’s smile when she looked down on her brother during his match, the way she pat him on the head...beautiful sight really.
'You like her' my inner voice points out. Maybe I do maybe I don't, I wouldn't know she has completely succeeded in putting me off, if this was a game I would be benched even during penalties.

"Jerry! Are you even listening to me?" Caleb asks.

"Sure me too"

"I know I ain't talking alone"

"Exactly" I say and with that he huffs in annoyance and then he decides to text someone, probably his rich doctor girlfriend. The educated type love is just too much of a hassle, just now they will be writing IQ tests to determine where they are having dinner tonight.

I take my phone and I check for messages and just like every other day...nothing from Layler.
