I roll over and hit the alarm clock, but I miss snooze and somehow turn the volume up. I yell in surprise and just yank the cord out of the wall. It's 6:30am and it is way too early to be awake. I know I can just sleep on the plane on the way home, but I just don't want to be awake. Before I even get out of bed I call and order room service breakfast for me and Lindsey. When I hang up I roll out of bed and start getting ready for the journey home.
I've just finished getting dressed when breakfast gets here. I tiredly take the breakfast tray from the guy that brings it and tell him thanks. I wake up Lindsey and give her her breakfast and then I go sit on my bed and eat mine. After I eat I brush my teeth and do my hair so I can put all that stuff in my suitcase. I finish getting ready and packing at 7:30, so I put my suitcase by the door and sit on the couch. I'm literally just staring off into space when there's a knock on the door. I go open it and it's Niall.
"Do you have any aspirin? I was stupid and didn't think to bring any," he says, rubbing his temples. I sigh and invite him in.
"Or you were stupid and got drunk," I say. He frowns and I mentally hit myself for being rude. "I have some, but I'm going to have to unpack everything to get to it," I tell him.
"Sorry. Louis only had enough for him, so I had to find someone else with some."
"It's fine," I say, digging stuff out of my suitcase. When I finally find my aspirin I get up and get Niall a glass of water and give the stuff to him.
"Thank you so much," he says, downing the water. I mumble a 'you're welcome' while I put everything back in my suitcase. Niall sits down on the couch, rubbing his temples again. His head must hurt a lot. He looks like he's in a lot of pain.
"Are you gonna be okay?" I ask, sitting down next Niall.
"Yeah, I'll be fine in a bit. It usually takes like a half hour to kick in," he says.
"Here, let me do it," I say, moving his hands from his head and replacing them with mine. I rub little circles into his temples and after a minute Niall sighs.
"That feels amazin'," he says. I smile. My friends always tell me I give good massages. After a couple more minutes of me massaging Niall's head, he grabs my hands and holds them.
"All better?" I ask. He nods.
"Thanks so much. That was probably the fastest any of my headaches have gone away."
"That's what I'm here for," I say with a smile.
"So you guys are headed out, huh?" Niall asks after a minute of silence. I nod. "I'm still coming to LA in a month, right?"
"If you want to. I'm all for it," I say. I really, really want him to come visit, but I don't want to seem desperate. "We don't have a guest bedroom, though."
"Oh that's okay. I'll sleep on the sofa," Niall says. I frown. I don't want to make him sleep on the couch, but it's all I can do if he's staying at our place.
"Are you sure? I could borrow a mattress from someone."
"Elissa, it's fine. I spend months sleeping on the tour bus, and that's worse than a sofa. I will be just fine," he says, a little exasperated.
"Okay. I'm just making sure..." I trail off. We sit for a minute in silence and then Lindsey opens her door. When she sees us holding hands she rolls her eyes and goes back into her room.
"I'm going to miss you," Niall says sadly.
"I'll miss you too. To be honest, you'll probably be the only thing on my mind until you come visit. It will be a long month," I say with a sigh. Niall squeezes my hands and gives me a sympathetic smile. We keep eye contact for what seems like forever.
