Not So Normal

Chapter 19

So you probably noticed that there's not chapter title.. I've kind of given up on coming up with creative titles that are general enough to be chapter titles, so there's just going to be 'Chapter whatever-number-it-is' from now on... Sorry if that inconveniences you in some way...

   The next couple days are pretty relaxed. Niall and I just hang out and don't really do much. We watch all the movies Niall got me for my birthday, since we never got to before he left. We also go out to a fancy restaurant for a late birthday dinner for Niall, since he was gone for his birthday. I make a cake and we have ice cream and it was really fun. He told me not to get him anything, but I got him a snapback and a pair of Air Jordans that I knew he didn't have yet.

   When Lindsey gets back from Washington we start to do more stuff. The first full day after she's back the three of us go to the beach. We stop at the hot dog stand and say hi to the guy there. Since it's the end of September and it's getting cooler, we decide not to really get in the water. We walk along the edge of the water and get our feet wet, but Lindsey and I won't let Niall splash us.

   "You guys are no fun!" he whines. We just laugh and keep walking.

   I brought a volleyball, so when we come across a volleyball net, we play for a while. It's me against Niall and Lindsey. I kick their butts, even after they demand like five rematches. I've still got it. I'll have to look and see if there are any volleyball clubs in LA right now. I'm sure someone would take me.

   The day after we go to the beach, I'm eating breakfast by myself when Lindsey and Niall come into the kitchen looking excited about something.

   "What's going on?" I ask suspiciously. Lindsey claps her hands together and jumps up and down while Niall tries to hold back a smile.

   "We're going to Disneyland!" he exclaims after a few seconds of anxious silence. I drop my spoon.

   "WHAT?"

   "Niall got you guys tickets to go to Disneyland for the next three days! You're leaving in an hour so go pack stuff and get ready!" Lindsey tells me. Wow. 

   "Oh my god! Thank you thank you thank you! I love you Niall!" I say, kissing him. He smiles and gives me a hug before making me go pack. This is so exciting! I skip to my room and start throwing clothes into a duffel bag. It takes me maybe fifteen minutes for me to finish packing.

   When I'm all ready to leave, Niall and I get in my Mustang and I drive us to Anaheim. Niall doesn't want to make me drive, but I don't like other people driving my car. We're staying at this big fancy hotel that's literally right across the street from Disneyland. Ah!! I haven't been to Disneyland since I was 15, and I've been wanting to go for so long. I never mentioned that to Niall, so Lindsey probably said something. I'll thank her later.

   We go up to our room at the hotel and drop our stuff off and then we're practically running across the street to get into the park. When we go through the Disneyland gates, I happily take in my surroundings. It's been way too long since I've been here.

   Niall stops to grab a map before we go farther into the park.

   "You need a map?" I ask, just too excited to stop and grab a map. Niall nods shyly.

   "I've never been here before," he confesses. My mouth drops open. How has he never been to Disneyland?

   "Have you been to any Disney parks?" I ask, amazed. Niall shakes his head. "That's insane. Put your map back. I'm going to show you everything. We will go on every ride and visit all the best restaurants. Prepare for the best three days of your life!"
