                                                     Chapter 5

Saturday dawned early for Eliza. Penny was helping Eliza put her hair in a high pony tail. Eliza said, "Thanks Penny. I better go. I will see you at the game. Save Colin a seat."

"I will save Colin a place to sid do not worry. Now go on before you are late." Penny said smiling.

Eliza went downstairs, got in her car, and drove to the band building. When she was parked, she got out, grabbed Delta Zeta Delta duffle bag, and went into the building. Madeline greeted her at the door fully dressed in her uniform, "Eliza you are a miracle. You are here early and basically almost ready. Let me show you how to check out your uniform." Madeline took her to where the band kipt there marching back uniforms and told the two ladies standing by the door, "Eliza Pope needs her dance uniform please."

One of the girls went into the closet found the uniform, handed Eliza the uniform, and said, "Just sign next to your name and then be sure to return it to us after the game."

Eliza walked with Madeline to the bathroom and said, "That is very good system." Madeline nodded and waited for Eliza to finish changing. The uniform was a maroon halter top with gold sequins with a short skirt and a matching sef of maroon gloves. The gloves were only worn during the winter. They would wear maroon pants to keep from catching cold until half time. If Eliza's duffle bag were gold palm palms and gold boots. Eliza went agead and put on the gold boots as well.

When Eliza emerged from the stall she was using Madeline said, "As the co-captain you also get to wear this." Madeline handed her a gold velvet cape.

"Thank you Madeline. This is a wonderful surprise."

"You are quiet welcome Eliza. Now let us go see how the other Majorettes are getting on." Eliza followed Madeline back toward the entrance of the band hall. Most of the Majorettes had arrived while they had been in the restroom. Once everyone was changed and ready Madeline led them in their stretches outside and then they were free to freshen up.

Eliza had set her duffle bag with the other Majorette's things. When she was walking around she noticed Colin leaning against a post near where she would line up to march to the stadium. Eliza smiled, walked over to him, and said, "I thought you would be at the stadium waiting with Penny."

"Victor is keeping her company. Do you think I would miss a chance to spend a few minutes alone with you?"

"You are so sweet Colin." Eliza stood on her tip toes and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"You look amazing by the way. You and Madeline are the only ones that get to wear capes?"

"Yes, Madeline and I are the only ones that get to wear capes because we are captain and co-captain of the dance line." There was a long whistle. "I have to go line up now. You better go to the stadium if you are going to be able to sith with Penny and Victor."

"Good luck and have fun sweetheart." Colin saw Eliza's pulse start to race as he said sweetheart. He smiled, waved, and then disappeared as she took her place next to Madeline.

Madeline said quietly, "Was that Colin Ford?"

"Yes, that was Colin Ford. He and I are dating." Eliza said with a huge smile.
