                                                   Chapter 8

     Eliza woke up the next morning nuzzled into Colin's warmth. Colin's clear blue eyes were watching her carefully. Eliza slowly realized that Colin was shirtless, his chest was covered with dark soft hair, and Eliza liked him shirtless. Eliza stretched, smiled, and asked, "Should you be in here?"

     "I should be where ever you are my sweet Eliza."

     "Your mother and I had a very interesting talk last night."

     "Is that so my love?" Colin asked smiling.

     "Yes it is so my love. Now you mentioned that we would talk today."

     "Indeed I did. I am sure that you have lots of questions and I would like to answer them all so, you start."

     "Your mother mentioned that you have not truly claimed me as you mate; why?"

     "I have been waiting for the right time but, I have also been waiting for you to tell me some things before I do so. I did not want to claim you wholly until you knew the truth about me."

     "Explain more to me about this process. Your mom tried to explain it to me and I am still a little confused."

     "When I found you that night at the party my whole body lit up like a Christmas tree. My nerves were on fire and I felt like I have finally found my other half. When we decide that we are ready to make the final commitment I will bite you on the shoulder. You will feel like I am with you all of the time, you will be able to hear my thoughts, you will be able to since my emotions, and I will be able to talk you telepathically and vice a versa. The bite will not change you into a werewolf but, it will mark you as mine. This will detour other werewolves from trying to take you."

     "It will be as if we are married?" Eliza said with butterflies in her stomach.

     "In a way yes but, we will have a real marriage as well."

     "I am going to tell you something that I told your mother last night." Colin nodded and sat very still. Eliza took a breath and said, "I promised your mother that I would never abandon you for any reason. I love you with all of my heart and I want to marry you my love. I do not think that I can survive without you Colin."

     Colin smiled, put his arm around Eliza's waist, pulled her closer, leaned down kissed her, and said, "Then you will not mind this." Colin reached into the nightstand, pulled out a black box, opened it to reveal a ring, and said, "Eliza you are my heart and soul. I cannot be without you in my life. Will you marry me?"

     Eliza looked at the ring that had an antique silver finish with a princess cut sapphire that had small diamond intertwining on the band; Eliza smiled, looked up at Colin with sparkles in her eyes, and said, "Yes, I will marry you my love."
