Chapter 15

The rest of the semester for Eliza was busy and exhasting. Every night she would walk into her room, grab her shower stuff, she would shower, changed into a pair of pajamas and then go straight to bed. Penelope would answer the phone when Colin would call to check on Eliza and say, "Colin I am sorry but, she is asleep. She did not even stir when the phone rang. Eliza has been doing this for the past month."

"I know she has been Penny but, I miss her being with me. I do not know how much longer I can hold out without seeing her. I know that she is busy doing all of her duties as co-captain of the Majorettes and as the soloist of the year but, I need to spend some time with her."

"Do you think you can hold out at least until Winter break? I know that is a month away but, it will be here before you know it."

"I will try Penny but, I cannot promise anything. My wolf is upset with me because we have to be away from her for so long. It is hurting me and she is supposed to be preparing to change into a werewolf."

"I will talk with her tomorrow when we have lunch tomorrow. I know she really wants to change but, I am worried about her taking on to many things at one time. She is already physically exhusting herself with everything that she is doing this semester. The added pressure of learning everything about a werewolf may just push her too far."

"I have not even thought of that. I just want her to be happy. I will let you go Penny; I know that you need to get to bed yourself. I will try not to call you for a few days."

"Call me as often as you need to Colin; I am here for you and Eliza."

"Thank you for being such a good friend to us. I will talk to you later."

"Good night Colin."

"Good night Penny." Colin said hanging up the phone.

Charles took one look at Colin, went to him, put his arm around his shoulder, and said, "I know you can make it through this. I know what you are feeling. I am not going to be able to see my mate until Winter break either."

Colin took a deep breath and said, "I wish that I was not feeling this way all of the time. It is hard being so close to Eliza yet being so far away."

"Do not worry you will be able to handle this. Eliza is so exhausted that she cannot even feel the strain of being away from you for now. When this semester is over she will never be able to leave your side."

Colin smiled at Charles and said, "Now that I can defitinately get used to."

"Then just keep thinking of that and you will make it through this just fine."

"How are you feeling Charles?" Colin asked feeling bad for not checking on him sooner.

"Not as bad as you are feeling but, I am missing my mate. I think it is worse for you since you and Eliza are fully mated. Veronica and I still have some things to sort out but, for now I am in this state of uneasiness."

"Why?"

"Because I do not know whether she will truly accept me for who I am or not."

"Eliza is going to help you with that when she arrives next semester. I need to know how much she knows and if she has told anyone about our kind."

"I would be truly grateful of any help Eliza is willing to provide."

"I do not want to put any more strain or her this semester. I will talk to her over break and remind her of her mission next semester. Now, I need to get to bed. I have a class to teach tomorrow morning."
