Chapter 19

The next morning dawned with light coming through Charles’ window which woke Veronica from her peaceful sleep. Veronica smiled when she saw that Charles was still sleeping soundly. She quietly got up out of the bed, went to the bathroom, washed her face and brushed her teeth. When she came back into the room she found Charles sitting up with his back against the headboard of the bed. Charles asked with a smile, “How did you sleep baby?”

“That was the best night’s sleep that I have had ever. How did you sleep sexy?”

“Better than I could have ever anticipated, I never want to sleep without you in my arms ever again. Want to hear what Colin had to say last night?”

“Yes please.”

“Colin would like to know about your past and thinks that it would be easier if you told me while you were at my house because my parents and I would know if your father had bugged the house. And I am sure that he has not. Since I am the Beta Colin and I both need to be prepared and knowledge is the best weapon that we have. How did your father become the leader of the Rouge wolves?”

“My mother was a human and was my father’s mate. She got pregnant with me a few years after they fully mated and passed away giving birth to me. My father thought that she died because I was a werewolf but, I never changed at the age of seventeen so, he kept the fact that he was a wolf to himself. He was never part of a pack because he knew that it would put me and my mother in more danger. My father was already angry because his mate was gone and he wanted to take it out on any werewolf that he could find and then Rouges heard that he was getting away with killing other werewolves so, they joined him. Ever since then he has been gaining more followers because he has taken out some small packs in the south. I believe that my father thinks that he can rule over all werewolf kind if he takes out the larger packs in the north because the smaller ones will come crawling once the larger packs are gone.”

“Do you think your father would really kill everyone in our pack?”

“I know he would kill the higher up wolves because that would cause him to be Alpha. When he killed Colin’s father he thought that would make him Alpha but he did not realize that Colin was of age to take over from his father.”

“You are sure that your father was behind Colin’s father dying?”

“I know that he was involved in it somehow. He knew of Colin and the pack that he now runs but, did not know how the whole Alpha position worked other than if you kill one then you are the new Alpha but, he did not know that he had to challenge an Alpha for the title to receive it from him.”

“I see you have been doing your research since we last talked. Why is your father so mad at normal werewolves?”

“I do not know that unfortunately. I would think that he would be madder at the Moon Goddess since she is the one in charge of choosing one mate.”

“Maybe that is why he is going after packs because we are more in touch with the Moon Goddess and we are in her favor.”

“I will try to find out if I can. What is the plan for when we get back to school?”

“Colin thought it better that you stay in your dorm room at least for a few months and then move into the pack house. It will look less conspicuous that way. We will see how it goes when we get there. Eliza and Penny will be spending a lot of time with you once you get there and I will be there as often as I can to stay with you until you move in with me.”

“That sound wonderful sexy I can’t wait. I have always wanted girlfriends to hang out with.”

“They are two of the best women I know. They have really good hearts. All of the new females that have gotten to know them respect them and treasure the time that they spend together. You will meet everyone once we get back to school but, don’t worry they will love you because I do.”
