"I mean she thinks she's the boss of me! Ugh I wish she'd just see I'm right for once!" Sam listened to me rant as I lay across the couch, my head on his lap and Him playing with my hair. "Sure, sure. Mm hm" I sat up on my elbows and looked up at Sam. "You're not even listening!" I say half laughing. "Well she's 18 Nina, you don't have to baby her. If she wants to go have fun-" he grins at me mischievously and makes his fingers walk down my body tugging at my shorts and laughs. "then let her" I couldn't help but sigh. "But what if something happens? Or even worse! What if she gets pregnant!" Sam put his finger in my mouth and looked down at me trying to keep me quiet. "Nina, you're overreacting." I pursed my lips and pouted at him. "But she's my best friend." Sam gasped dramatically. "Uh! What about me!?" He laughed and continued to twirl my hair around his fingers. "You're my boyfriend, there's a difference." Sam raised an eyebrow. "Actually-"
"I mean girl best friend Sam. You know you're my best friend" I look up at him and smile as I reach up for a kiss. His lips were soft and warm. Exactly what I needed right now."Well when's the last time you've heard from her?"
"Last night to tell me that she was at Matts house" I rolled my eyes and turned the other way annoyed. Sam brushed away my hair from the sides of my face and looked down at me, kissing the side of my face softly. "Nina, have you texted her after that?"
"Yes"
"Then she's just busy." Sam said reassuringly. I propped myself up again and looked at Sam in the eyes. "Sam I don't trust this guy. He rides a motorcycle, he wears leather jackets and he smokes!" Sam laughed. "Nina, you're generalizing. Not every dude that does that is a bad guy. I wear leather jackets."
"But-"
"No buts, he hasn't done anything to be titled as a bad guy." I thought for a moment.
He wasn't wrong. I was just overreacting, but I know my best friend. I know Alyssa... she will get herself into something and she won't know until it's too late. I was jus worried. I was being a "mom."
"Now then, shall we go get some dinner or do you want to order in?" Sam asked with a smile."With what money?" My mom asked laughing as she walked in. "I have a Job mom" Sam laughed back. Sam has been my best friend for a while, and part of that includes calling my mom, mom. "Good, you're responsible. But I'm making dinner tonight. So how does chicken sound?" Mom asked. "Oooh! Sounds good!" I said groaning on the couch. "I'm hangry!" Sam laughs at me and pokes my stomach making me giggle a bit. "Stopppp" I say trying to curl up in a ball. "Never!" Sam began to tickle me and I felt myself trying to attack him off as I giggle uncontrollably. "No! No! No!" My mom looks at me and walks away laughing. "Mom you traitor!!"
"I'm making dinner!" She shouts from the kitchen.Sam stops tickling me and smirks down at me before kissing me wrapping his arms around my waist. The kiss lasts a good few seconds before he pulls away and I hear a slight smacking sound from our lips as he moves back and I unwillingly lean up to stop him from leaving. "If only we had been in your room, then I would've kissed you in some more... interesting places." My face begins to burn and my stomach fills with butterflies before he gets up and smiles innocently. "Let's go see if your needs help with dinner."
I was speechless, how could he be sexy one minute and so innocent responsible boy then next? "Al- alright." Sam takes my hand and pulls me into the kitchen.*********************************
Sam had left and I needed to clean and spend time with my mom. I marked them all off of my checklist and laid down in my bed finally relaxing. I looked at my clock. 11:27 PM. I grabbed my phone and checked it. No texts. "Hold back... she's busy" I thought. But what if she's in trouble...
I unlocked my phone and texted Alyssa quickly.
"Hey bby, you alright? Just let me know. Kinda worried and miss you... ttyl."
I turned my phone off and turned around ready to sleep. The lights were off and I could hear the cars passing by, the party next door and my clock ticking. It was very rhythmical. Then the thoughts began to haunt me.
