Chapter 3 part 1

We started to run back towards the house after I was full. We were about thirty miles away now and I was starting to get tired and curious about something nobody would talk to me about.

"Jakie, why do you think I just started getting nightmares? I've never had them before that I can remember." I asked.

"Well that's a good question, when I was little I got nightmares all depending on what I was thinking about when I fell asleep."

"You had nightmares?"

"Of course!"

"Wow, so you're saying, that if I decide to fall asleep thinking about me destroying The Volturi, that's what will happen in the dream?"

"Most likely."

"Wow, I didn't think it worked like that. I mean that's so cool, but I wasn't thinking about The Volturi when I went to sleep."

"Well sometimes what you are thinking about relates to them."

"Okay, I think I get it now. So if I go to bed tonight and think about me freezing them in time, I could do that in the dream."

"Well, yeah but don't count on dreams like that to come true, I don't think that's even possible. But you've got the idea."

"Okay, thanks Jakie."

"No problem Ness."

I need to try this strategy, and I hope Jakie is right about it, I don't think I can watch that dream again. It's terrifying, the way Jane tilts her head and smiles that terrible smile, I winced at the thought.

"Jake, how far are we from home?"

"Not far, we should be there soon. Hey, you didn't call me Jakie?"

"I guess I didn't. That's weird, I always call you Jakie."

"I guess not always." He chuckled.

I sighed, Jakie was so amazing. He noticed everything, from something so small as wearing different colored contacts, to getting your hair chopped off, not that I have. But he would've noticed if I did. I'd never before met someone so cool. I knew we were almost home, but I was tired and I wanted to try his strategy.

"Jake, I'm tired, could you phase so I could ride on your back?"

"Sure."

He didn't even take his sweats off. He just phased ripping his sweats into itty, bitty, pathetic, pieces on the ground.

"Why'd you do that?"

He shrugged.

Oh well I thought. I hopped up onto his back, putting my arms around his neck, and resting my head on his back. Like before, he was so warm. I let my eyes shut. The only thing I let go through my mind was me freezing them in time, before Jane tried to paralyze me. Again, again, and again, because it was amusing to see them freeze, when they were supposed to be so fast, and scary.

Of course, I should have known his strategy would work. That was exactly the dream. I froze them in time and walked around them, while I laughed.

When I woke up I was in the main house, lying on the couch. Alice, Carlisle, and my dad were sitting around me, watching me sleep. I stared at them, and they stared at me.

"Uh...what's going on?" I asked them.

"You didn't have the dream, did you?" my father asked.

"No, I didn't. I used a trick Jake taught me."

"What trick?" Alice asked.

"Think about what you want to happen, and making it happen in the dream."

"What? No, how is that possible?" she turned to Carlisle. "Carlisle?"

He was looking at me, just looking at me, his eyebrows furrowed. His face finally lit up after a few minutes.

"I completely forgot! I can't believe I forgot!"

"You have got to be joking, Carlisle! That stuff only happens in movies!" Edward said in an annoyed tone.

"What stuff?" Alice asked eagerly.

"Well it is weird, but it's true!"

"What's true?!" Alice almost yelled.

"That every vampire gets a wish." Edward replied sarcastically.

"Really? That's so corny!" Alice giggled.

This whole time I was sitting on the couch, completely confused.

"Wait a minute! Everybody just wait a minute!" they all looked at me "What in the world is going on?"

"You take after me! You have psychic powers, and you can freeze time" Alice shouted eagerly.

I looked at her with an are-you-insane look.

"No, the nightmare you had was my vision! Then your wish was to freeze them in time and now you can do that too! I had that vision that you froze them too!"

This was so weird, crazy, insane, I didn't get it.
